Chapter One

~MK's POV~

Another morning greets me through the drapes, I hear hummingbirds outside, what are they doing I wonder? I drag my legs out of my bed and walk to the window to open it, and a bird and it's rider rudely enters my room. I sort my hair and rush downstairs to grab my helmet to communicate. I see it's Ronin, I hadn't seen him in a while.

"Ronin, what's wrong?" I ask

"It's Nod, have you seen him?" He asks back in his rough Irish accent.

"No, do you think he's in trouble?"

"Nah, he's probably mes-" the monitor bleeps and I motion for Ronin and his bird to follow me downstairs, Nod was at the monitor.

"Nod! What do you think your playing at? You could of-" Ronin began to lecture.

"Yeah yeah I'm sorry, I was just flying around you know. Hey MK," I give him a wave, Ronin leaves out the window and I take off the helmet to chat.

"Nod, he was worried sick!" I moaned,

"Yeah, but he shouldn't be, I'm okay alone." He replied in defense

"What were you doing anyway?"

"Coming to talk before slime wakes." I giggle as he smiles.

~Nod's POV~

We chatted for a few hours, I liked to see her. It was nice not to be joined by Mub aswell. I told her I was going to be busy most of the day as the queen was giving us what she promised. MK hoped it would be worth it and we could see each other again, probably will be. I wish I could be with her, like she could come back to us or I could experience her world, that would be epic. Just to spend time in person together, if we did that now she would squish me! And I don't want her upset. I said goodbye to her just as her dad came downstairs, hopped on my bird and flew back to moon haven. I joined the end of the prim clean straight backed leaf men. Once we were all in position Ronin walked the queen through the door, even though she was young she still walked and acted like she should.

"Good morning men," We all bowed at her greeting she giggled as she usually did. "Now what I promised..... Ah! I shall give you all a wish, anything but resurrection. So I shall go along the line excetera," She went down the line granting a wish she new each leaf man and woman wanted, I was last as I arrived late.

"Now Nod, a noble man of us all." She smiled,

"Well, not all," I thought of Ronin, and everyone else.

"Will you come with me? Everyone else has their wish." I nodded and we walked to the far side. "Now your wish is more personal, isn't it?" I thought hard about it, what could I ha- wait! I nodded,

"I shall send you to her world, if you wish,"

"Of course your highness, but for how long?"

"Ummm.... A year and a bit at most, but you can alway come back sooner." She grinned warmly,

"Thank you your highness, thank you so much, I think your doing great at being queen." She giggled and thanked me, my clothes were turned from my uniform into my brown shirt and pants. Ronin caught a glimpse and said goodbye, I was surprised he let me go. I was sent up like MK last year and landed into the forest with my clothes and no shoes, this should be fun, everything was smaller...

~Meanwhile~ ~MK's POV~

My dad came down as Nod left, he greeted good morning and we went to make breakfast, he nattered about what Nod and the leafmen were doing, with Grub aswell. The monitor gave off the odd bleep as the little people got to work. I went upstairs to change and freshen up. In my closet I grabbed my long pink top and jeggings. There was.... Boys clothes? I called down to dad who knew nothing about it, huh. I was going down the stairs with Ozzy liking my face off when a knock came at the door. My father and I both shot looks at each other of panic, I over heard him scrambling around in his study and turning off the monitors. I warily walked up and opened the door.

Evelyn? She waved off the taxi with a small bag in hand.

"MK! I came to stay, remember inviting me in a letter a few months ago well here I am!" I dropped Ozzy and hugged my best friend. Eve had caramel brown hair and blue eyes. She wore a red hoodie and leggings.

"I didn't think you'd come! Dad!" I called out and he came to greet us,

"Evelyn! Well, you haven't been here for what? 14 years! You have grown!" Eve looked worried as dad went into the study mumbling to himself.

"Don't mind him, how are you?" We started upstairs and into the spare room.

"Oh I'm okay, I can only stay a couple of days, and you?" Great two days without talking to Nod......and doing the work yeah.

"I'm okay, getting to know my fathers great so,"

"Yeah it's good your close, My mums getting distant." We talked about her troubles and mine with no wifi or good signal. Really mine weren't as important as hers, we also talked about good things, I didn't tell her about Nod, not much point because there is no our size people out here apart from me and dad. She went to admire the view from the window,

"Um MK? There's some one in the wood...."
