The girl ran to the woods, with tears bursting out of her eyes.
Poor little angel.
She is just a misunderstood kid, who people find creepy for her beautiful and unique appearance. Her beautiful raven hair, long enough to be a second Rapunzel, was always dancing with the wind and reaching her ankles. She never did anything special with it, just let it flow against the wind. Her pale skin rival a full moon on a cloudless night, which contrasted with her natural red thin lips, but what most attracted attention from her appearance are her silver eyes.
Her dress style was also different. You see, she never wore modern clothes. She never wore pants. She wore skirts if they were long enough to cover her feet, and dresses with long sleeves. In other words, she is what people call weird. And that made her an easy target.
The town's people always called her the devil's daughter.
Humans are stupid.
Nobody understood her. She didn't try to make them understand. She knew it was pointless. She lived in a superstitious town, where anything remotely different was considered the devil's work. They say she would go to The Magie Forest to pray to the demons or that she would go to the cemetery and dance on the graves of those who lost their souls in hell. Everything is far from the truth.
She was a normal girl, who looked and dressed a little differently. Who went into the woods, because she didn't believe in the superstitions and loved the nature surrounding her. The same girl who went to the cemetery to enjoy the quiet and be away from the jokes. But ignorance has no limits. So the other teens decided to have fun at her expense. They found out about the boy she liked. An average joe, who had what it took to make her fall into his lies.
Oh! How cruel is reality, huh?
Why was she crying and running to the woods?
Well, it so happens to be their anniversary today. The plan had ended. The truth graced her ears. The reveal stopped her beating heart, breaking the soul of purity and hope inside of her.
While she ran away from pain. Crossed the dried river of the Seven Capital Sins, a thousand year-old river. She went deeper into the forest not caring if she got lost. She kept running until she tripped on a tree's roots, cutting deep her knees in the process. Too tired to stand up again, she leaned against the tree, catching her breath, and sobbed.
She was tired of everything. She wished the ignorance would just go away. She hugged her legs and continued to cry, without knowing that a single tear had mixed with a small drop of blood. The combination was absorbed by the root almost immediately, unlocking one of the most dangerous secrets of the woods.
The dairy.
She felt sleepy and started to close her eyes. The sky was turning grey. It hasn't rain in that town for years, she thought as she started to doze off. She heard a noise coming from the trees far away in front of her. She passed it as one of many animals of the forest, ignoring the real danger.
The girl closed her eyes little by little. Noticing a shadow approaching her. The shadow cleaned the dried tears, like a loving mother, and then the darkness consumed her.
The girl woke up due to the light bugging her eyes. The sky was now in a reddish color, announcing the end of the day. She sat herself up wondering how much time had she slept. With a frown face she looked down to see her knees covered with dried blood and a book on her thighs.
- What the...?
She frowned. The book seemed rather old. The cover had a little mirror. Under that, was a little key dangling from a little chain, there was also a black ribbing wrapped around the book like it was a gift.
