Best Friends

You and Noah were out getting some coffee. You both had a day off and you hadn't seen each other in a few days so you wanted to catch up and see each other. Noah was your best friend. You told him everything and anything that happened in your life and he told you everything about his life. You haven't known each other terribly long, just a few years, but you guys hit it off when you first met and became the best of friends.

You guys were sitting enjoying your coffee and catching up. You kept seeing him eye someone that was behind you, so finally you turned around to see who it was. You didn't know who she was but she was really pretty and you could see why he was looking at her. You and Noah eventually finished your coffees and went to part ways. As you were walking out you saw him walk over to the girl and start flirting with her. You left the coffee shop and speed walked (almost ran) to your car. This isn't the only time you've seen him flirt with girls, he did it all the time, but just recently it started really bothering you. You couldn't figure out why at first, but then you came to find out that you liked him as more than just a friend. You were too scared to say anything to him though, so you didn't. You just kept your mouth shut and watched him flirt away. You would get angry every time it happened, so you would usually just walk out and go somewhere to calm yourself down.

Noah texted you later that day and wanted to hang out again that weekend. You agreed to meet him for lunch and then you were going to go back to his place for a movie marathon for the rest of the day. You kept telling yourself that it would be ok and that everything would be fine, you just had to get over your feelings for him. You repeated that to yourself every day even on Saturday when you guys met for lunch.

You were eating your food and having a nice chat with Noah. He got up to use the restroom and, on his way back, he saw a really cute girl so he decided to flirt with her a little bit. You noticed him flirting with her and you got really upset by it so you got up to leave. You didn't want Noah to see your tears because he would ask questions and then you would have to tell him. You couldn't risk it, so you decided you would just leave and text him later and tell him you weren't feeling good. What you didn't realize is that Noah was watching you as you walked out the door. He excused himself from the girl he was talking to and made his way to find you. He walked out and saw you walking down the street and started following you. He came up to you and realized you were crying.

"Woah, woah, woah, hey y/n, what's wrong?" he asks you.

"Nothing, I don't want to talk about it. Just let me leave." You respond, tears running down your cheeks now.

"No, I'm not leaving until you tell me what's wrong! Please just tell me wha....." he was in the middle of asking you to tell him.

You couldn't hold it in anymore. You leaned up to him and kissed him. He was surprised at first, but then he started kissing you back. You pulled away and looked down. You didn't want to look at his face, you couldn't. You just didn't want to know if this was going to be the end of your friendship or not, so you pulled away from him and started to walk away. He didn't let you though, he pulled you back by your hand and kissed you again.

Once you finally pulled away you looked up at him. He was grinning the biggest you'd ever seen him grin before.

"Why didn't you just tell me you liked me?" he questions you.

"I didn't want to ruin our friendship. I didn't think you liked me back like that because you keep flirting with other girls." You say shyly.

"The only reason I was flirting with those girls is because I thought you didn't like me like that." He responds and you start laughing.

"Hey, why are you laughing, it's not that funny!" he says and chuckles a little.

"Actually it is really funny!" you say laughing even more. Your laugh is so contagious that it makes him start to laugh.

You guys eventually stop laughing and make your way back to your cars. You guys drive back to Noah's place and get snacks and drinks ready for the movie marathon. You put the movie on and grab a blanket and snuggle up on the couch next to Noah.
