Queen 6 - First Day of School

I woke up the same way I used to this past few days when I was still at my apartment. Ragged breath and drenched in sweat. At least now my orifices are not bleeding anymore. I calm myself by taking deep breaths and massaging my temple. My nightmare still hunts me even though i'm already at its clutches. I look at the digital clock in my bedside table. It's just half-passed four o'clock, my usual wake-up routine. Well, i have to in the past because i have to do all the things by myself that's why since I was young I always been an early bird. I stood up from my bed, stretching my tensed limbs. I walk towards the balcony and opened it. The sky is still dark and the moon still shines in the western side of the sky. It was cold and the breeze that passed by doesn't help either. I look below and saw the light-filled street and park. There is still no student out there, well that's understandable. I walk back to my room and give it a 360 degree look. This big room will be my room for the next couple years of my life. It's magical how a room can give you a sense of comfort and protection as well as the feeling of a home. But how unfortunate, that this feelings are only evoked at my mind and not at my heart. The king size bed is covered in cyan colored comforter and sheet. On its side is a bedside table made from mahogany and on top of it sat a simple lamp and a digital clock. Beside the bedside table is a larger table with drawers on its body. There is also a mirror on top of the table with many basic necessities laying on the table. And on the other side of the room is a closet, a study table, and a shelf with a few books in it. And in the middle of the room there is a small table with a vase at the center. And on one side is a door that leads to the bathroom. I grabbed a towel and headed to the bathroom. I remove all the clothes before I head in the shower cubicle. I let the cold run through my body sending shivers down my spine. I just let the pour on my body for a few minutes to cover the tears that is falling from my eyes. It may looked like I accepted this smoothly but inside me there's still that voice shouting that i don't belong here, that I shouldn't be here. I wiped my tears and started bathing.

I walked out of the bathroom with only a towel covering my body and another towel in my hair. I walk towards the cabinet where my uniform was hanged. It was a black coat, a black skirt, a white blouse, and a red ribbon. The coat has silver lining on its edges and pockets, adorn with gold buttons. It looks too flamboyant that it suffocates me. I'm not used in wearing something like this but I guess I don't have a choice. I neatly wear it. I look at myself in the mirror, even this beautiful uniform can't hide my true self. I sighed and make my way towards the door.

"Ava!" I was startled when I heard that high-pitch scream of Keith.

"Goodmorning, Ava!" She said as she grab my arm. "Heading towards the cafeteria?" She said and dragged me after I finish locking my room. We went to the dormitory's cafeteria and ate our breakfast.

"Oh, by the way, what section are you? I'm on Neophyte-Beta. I wish we are classmates, that would be so cool. Let me see your form." She said as she grabbed my folder. She flip through it hurriedly and her cheerful smile dampen a little.

"Oh, you're on Delta. That's so sad, we won't be able to see each other often." She said childishly.

"It's okay, we'll just meet at lunch." Sinabi ko na lang para iconsole siya.

"That's right! Then let's go to the cafeteria." Sabi niya at tumakbo habang hila ako. I smiled as I let her dragged me wherever. I guess with her around, life will be a bit better.

She dragged me till we reach the cafeteria and there, sitting on one of the table was her brother. He waved at us. Keith dragged me again towards her brother and people kept staring at us, like we're some crazy dudes running inside the cafeteria. I just lowered my head to hide in this embarrassment. I heaved a sigh of relief when we finally reach the table.

"You dumbhead, always running anywhere you go." Klein said and flick the forehead of his sister.

"You're the dumbhead!" She said and tried to flick his brother's forehead too but unfortunately for her, he manage to dodge. Seemingly furious, she pounce on her brother and hold his head and flick him to death.

"Aw aw aw! It hurts! Ouch! You win!" He said as he tried to stop her. When she heard him, she stop and stood up triumphantly.

"Remember dumbhead, don't mess with Keith Hydor." She said as she merrily sat on her seat and dragging while doing so. "As your punishment, go get us our meal."

"It's okay, i'll just get mine." I said as I tried to stand up but Keith immediately pull me down.

"No, let him do his duly punishment." Sabi niya and look at his brother lovingly.

"Alright." He said with a smile and stand up. He proceeded to the counter para makuha yung meals namin.

"Anyway, are you new here? I haven't seen you here before. You must be a transferee, right? Have you been around the school, I can take you. There so many things to see, meet me after class okay?" She said while busily fumbling with her phone.

"Oh, okay." I said as I played with my fingers.

"Oh, you're really a transferee? What school did you came from? It's rare to see transferee since most students stay at their school until they graduate." Sabi niya as she looked at me with a bit of shock on her face.

"I'm not really from here. I don't know really know where we are right now. I just know that I have to study in this school or else...." I said the last sentence slowly and quietly as I slice my neck with my fingers.

"Ohhh gooosh! You mean... You came from the other side." She said as put her hands on her mouth, stupefied on her seat.

"Other side? What's that? Is that how you call earth?" I said with confusion all over my face.

"What's up with that face, dumbhead? You look as if you've seen a ghost." Klein said as he put down our food.
