Beep-beep-beep! went Charlotte's phone on FaceTime. "Go for Lots," she said, not noticing the face on screen. "Zane!" Charlotte yelled when she realized who was FaceTiming her. On the screen was a pale young adult with sky blue eyes but the right side was covered by black hair[or is it the left side. Forgive me if I'm wrong] and a mask was covering his mouth. "Hey,sis! Where are you?" Zane asked. Even though Charlotte couldn't see, she could tell Zane was smiling. "On a plane, actually. I'm back to LA after finishing a movie in England," Charlotte explained, giving a small smile. Charlotte was a world famous actress and Hollywood star and seemed to doing a movie every other month. It didn't make much time for her family so she appreciated any moment she had with her family. "Oh, is this a bad time?" Zane asked, dropping his voice to a whisper. "No, we're good. The flight attendant and pilots are in the cockpit and the only other person on the plane is my manager, Adriana." She turned the plane is a woman in her mid-twenties with midnight blue and black hair in a short bob and chestnut eyes, typing away on a laptop. She looked up and waved. "Hi Zane." Adriana said giving a short wave before turning back to her work. Zane gave a soft sign. Only a handful of people knew Charlotte's real identity: the adopted daughter of the Ro'Meaves. "So, what's up? She asked getting comfy on the clinch she was on. "Nothing much. How about you?" Zane asked. "Well, I like I said earlier, I'm heading back to LA since I just finished staring in the Last Key, which is set in the English countryside and coming to the theaters next month," Charlotte said, smiling. She loved talking about her work and more importantly, with Zane. "Ladies, this is your captain speaking. We are about to land in Los Angeles International Airport. Please return to your seats and set your watches to 3 pm, Pacific time. Thank you and hoped you enjoyed your flight!" "Well, we're about to land,Zane. I gotta go," Charlotte said, her smile disappearing. "Bye." She gave a small wave before ending the call. "I thought you were going to tell him," Adriana said, putting her laptop into her knapsack and heading back to her seat. "I know, but you know Zane. He'll probably get upset I didn't warn beforehand, but he'll find out soon enough," Charlotte said turning her head and attention to the window on her left side, which had a wonderful view of Los Angeles. An unsettling feeling hung over her.
You should have told him,a small voice in Charlotte's head said. He is your brother and best male friend, said another voice. Not to mention, this decision affects him too. Trying to distract herself from those particular voices, she cracked opened her most recent book she was reading, The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket. She had just started the series but was eagerly hungry for more. The unsettling feeling from earlier seemed to disappear as Charlotte read the Baudelaire children trying to solve the murder of Uncle Monty. [Spoliers for the book sorry]

And done! First chapter of a new book is always a accomplishment! This is a story I have been working on for a long time, but spent my free time writing the first chapters beforehand. Anyway, hope you enjoy Charlotte Ro'Meave and her epic adventures!

P.S The girl on the cover and top of the chapter is Charlotte. She looks different because she has two identities. Also they look really bad since I drew them and I'm a bad drawer.
