"How do you know this guy again?" Aiden asked from the other side of your room.
Tonight you were going on a date with a guy from your chemistry class. Lydia had decided that she'd had enough of you being lonely, even though you were with Aiden most of the time, so she set you up for a blind date with a guy from your chemistry class. Lydia knew about the small crush that you had on Aiden and was determined to get you with someone else because she thought that something was different about him (even though Lydia had known that the two of you had been friends since you were little). She didn't tell you who it was so you decided to go along with it. So here you were getting ready for your date while your best friend sat in your room and tried to calm your nerves.
You rolled your eyes and slipped on your dress. "He's in my chemistry class, Aiden."
"And where are you going on this date?"
"Really? We're going to see a movie," You told him. "Come over here and help me zip up my dress."
You could practically hear Aiden roll his eyes at you as he walked over to you. You held up your hair so that it wouldn't get caught in the zip of your dress.
"So you really like this guy, huh?" Aiden asked as he began zipping up the dress.
You thought about his question for a second. "Lydia set this blind date up so I don't know who it is –she just told me that he's in my chemistry class. I don't know how things are going to go tonight because I haven't been on a date in forever and then there's the whole never been kissed thing so I really don't know what to expect."
Aiden stopped zipping for a second. "You've never been kissed?"
You could feel the blush rising to your cheeks –you didn't realize that you'd said that out loud. "Oh –um –yeah."
"I've known you for years and you never told me?" Aiden asked you, his voice soft and full of emotion.
You nodded your head and shivered, noticing how cold it was in your room with a dress on. The small crush that you had on Aiden seemed to peak at that moment and his lips became the most interesting thing you'd ever seen. Somehow you'd never noticed how they always curled at the ends whenever he smiled –it was really cute.
Aiden placed a hand on either side of your face, running the pad of his thumb over your cheek. Your eyes met his briefly before you placed your hand over his and pressed your lips to his.
"That was really..." You didn't really know how to finish the sentence because you had nothing to compare it to.
"Good," Aiden finished, smiling.
"I think I should call Lydia and cancel that blind date," You laughed.
