Bobble was sneaking around today so she could avoid everyone. She wanted to go to Headphones, but she was sure the others would be around her. So she was going to go to the most secluded place she could think of. Walleye Warehouse would be the best place for her to hide at for now. She had spent sometime there since her and Mask had started spending more time together. She knew the ins and outs of it and his team wasn't supposed to be around today. Once there she sat in a corner and began to rub her arms, which were covered in blue bruises, and began to cry. She knew someone other than Headphones had to know. But who could she trust? The Goggles was a good friend, but his idiocy would probably keep him from understanding the situation. Glasses would be a bit better, but sometimes he over thinks things. The other teams were either too intense, or wouldn't be understanding enough. Eventually she curled up audibly crying. "Why...Why is there only one person I can talk to about this..."
Mask had recently gotten a good amount of money and had just bought the new Off The Hook CD, some new comics, and was on his way to his teams home base. None of them would be there at the moment so he could listen to the CD before he'd read the comics. He slowly made his way to the warehouse and once inside he could hear sobbing. Not wanting to scare whoever was here. It wasn't long before he saw Bobble. She had taken her hat off revealing that, other then her long tentacles, she had nothing covering her head. He slowly approached her. "Bobble, what happened?"
She slowly looked up when she heard Mask, and then looked back down going silent. What was she supposed to tell him? That her father usually hurt her? That he'd bruise her? That he'd rip out everything other than her long tentacles? She just wished that she could disappear forever right now. Though her thoughts were interrupted when Mask put a hand on her shoulder and knelt down.
"Bobble, what happened to you? What happened to you?" Mask spoke with concern in his voice. He looked over her arms trying to think of what to do. Her team should probably know about this. He knew that if one of his friends had gotten this hurt then he'd want to know.
Bobble avoided his gaze. She felt like he'd judge her for this and blame her, but when he didn't she gently put her arms around him. "I...I just got into a little trouble is all." She knew that if her father found out that she told anyone then her punishment would be a lot worse next time. The only person she did trust with that information was Headphones. "Could you help me though? I... I just kind of want some space to myself. And if you have to tell anyone then tell Headphones."
Mask nodded before he helped her up. "Alright. I'll take you my place. You can settle in there and wait for her." Seeing her like this hurt him a bit. She was hurting both physically and emotionally, but he didn't know how else to help her.
Bobble put her hat back on and pushed her sleeves back down. She held onto Mask as they started to walk. She made sure to tell him which way they could go that would allow them to avoid running into too many people. Once inside of his home Bobble isolated herself and Mask took his mask off.
Bobble closed the spare bedroom door and called Heaphones to let her know what was going on. "Hey, um, dad...dad lost his temper again..." Bobble wanted to break down again, but she didn't want to do it while she was on the phone. "Alright. Thank you." She hung up and began to sob.
Mask began to make them both some lunch. He'd bring Bobble hers when she was ready. He did his best to make some curry. By the time it was done there was a knock on the door, and he knew it had to be Headphones. He walked out of the kitchen and opened the door for her. "She's in the spare bedroom." He moved and sighed.
Headphones nodded before she walked to the back and knocked on the door. "Bobble, it's Headphones."
Hearing this Bobble opened the door, pulled her in, closed the door and just held her friend.
Headphones sighed and gently pet Bobble's head being careful of the hat. "It's alright. Just take your time and tell me what happened when you're ready. " Hopefully that wouldn't be asking too much of her. At least right now.
Mask sighed and waited . Eventually Headphones came out and sat down across from him. "Would you mind if she stayed the night?" Headphones asked looking at him.
"Of course not." He just wanted to know what exactly happened to her. After that then he'd know how best to help.
Headphones sighed and looked down. "I can't. That's something she'll have to talk to you about. But..." She looked back up with a bit of anger in her eyes. "If her dad comes looking for her then you have to keep her safe. Got it?" Headphones just wanted to make sure Bobble would be safe.
Mask nodded. "I'll protect her even if it costs me my life." This was the honest truth. He'd die before he let any harm come to Bobble.
Headphones smiled before she got up. "See you later." She said before leaving.
Bobble had calmed down by now and was thinking about how she felt towards Mask. There was no way she loved him. Was there? Even if she did she was sure it wouldn't last. Everyone always got scared of by her father. But she couldn't help it. Anytime she was close to him she could feel her heart speed up.
