Miranda walked home from the Barkensy Hotel, happy as she could be, now that she no longer has to keep her singing a secret. It felt good to let it out. I should've done it earlier, she thought to herself as she made her way to the front door and opened it only to reveal her mom and dad standing there with not happy expressions.

"Mom!? Dad?! What are doing out of your offices?!" Miranda shouted in confusion, for her parents had never even came out of their offices unless they were on a buisness.

"What are we doing out, what are you doing outside with no one supervising you?" asked her mother with a hint of anger added to her voice.

"I was hanging out with my best friend Jenky," Miranda replied, really confused for a moment before sighing and continuing, "I've always hung out with Jenky and even brought her over here a few times but you guys never noticed."

Her father just closed his eyes, shook his head, and said "Our work is very hard for what we do and we haven't had time-"

"Then why didn't you make time!!!" shouted Miranda on the verge of tears, "Where were you guys when I graduated as the top student in both Johnson Elementary and Middle School?!? Or when I won the top scientist award!! Or when I first got stage fright at the age of 10?!?!? Why weren't you there for me?"

As she said the last sentence, tears flowed from her eyes and cascaded down her cheeks, ruining her make-up and mascara. Her mother still held her angry face while her father was not sure of what to do right now at a moment like this. "That is no excuse for what you did! Coming home unsurpervised!" shouted her mother.

"I walked home with Jenky then we parted ways at the driveway mom!!" shouted Miranda with her throat hurt from trying to hold in the tears.

"That is still no excuse young lady! You could've been kidnapped while walking down that driveway!! Did you not realize that?!?!" her mom shouted back.

"Why do you even care if I get kidnapped?!?! Everyone knows about me being the girl who everyone pity's cause her famous parents are never there for her!!" Miranda shouted with her voice going hoarse.

"That is it! You are grounded from here on out until you graduate and you will never hang out with Jenky again cause she is a bad influence on you!!!" said her mother venomously.

"She is not a bad influence on me if you haven't been around to meet her!! You barely even know her!!" Miranda shouted back.

"Doesn't matter cause of your actions tonight, you will not be alowed to see your best friend ever again!!" Her mother snarled venomously and started to walk away when Miranda said "No! I will see her as long as I want!"

"You are still a child and you will not disobey me!!" shouted her mother while turning around and getting into the face of her daughter.

"You are just as bad as the time when I tried to make myself noticed by the two of you by delivering pizza to dad when he won his first oscar. Did you recognize me dad?" asked Miranda turning her head to her father.

"Well..."

"See, you guys were so caught up in your work that you both forgot about me and didn't even knew that I existed. I thought about suicide but Grandma Lola and Papa Rector helped me pull through of not doing that and even Jenka helped me with my troubles. My grandparents have always been there for me, but where were you for every single one of my birthdays? Hope diminished when I turned 15 that you guys would at least remember that I was there and be there for me. And you know what, I think its time that I stop relying on myself and just take the offer Grandma Lola and Papa Rector had given me," said Miranda as she went past her parents and was running up the stairs toward her room.
