Miranda woke to the sound of beeping and opened her eyes to see herself in a hospital bed with an I.V. attached to her arm. Looking around, the last thing Miranda could remember was herself about to take the pills then Jenky bursting into the bathroom. She never looked up cause her sobs racked her body, but the only thing she heard was yelling. Her mom yelling at Jenky and Jenky yelling back at her mother about families. After that she was taken to a white room where everything became blurry and she passed out.
Now fully awake, Miranda could see that she was in the emergency room and was wearing a hospital gown while under the covers of a really comfy bed. The door opened and in came a female who looked like the doctor here to take care of her. Miranda looked up at the woman while the woman checked her pulse. "Staring is not very nice child," said the woman distractedly while putting down Miranda's right hand, that had the I.V. attached to it.
"Sorry," mumbled Miranda as she looked down with shame burning on her face.
The woman kindly placed a hand on Miranda's cheek saying "Don't worry about anything and there is nothing to be ashamed of, cause from what I can tell, this is your first time here."
Miranda smiled and the woman went back to writing on her cliboard some notes that she had to take. Breathing in and out, Miranda wondered if Jenka was here. "Lets take your temperature dear to see how you feel cause we don't know for sure how many of those pills you took to commite suicide," instructs the woman as she takes out a thermometer and puts plastic at the end of it.
Nodding her head and opening her mouth, the woman placed the thermometer underneath her tounge and instructed her to close her mouth and keep it that way until it beeps. "By the way, my name is Evalin and I am your nurse who will take care of you until you are considered healthy enough to leave," said the woman/Evalin introducing herself while writing down a few more notes before the beeping goes off.
Taking the thermometer out, Evalin could see that it was a 99.9. So in other words, Miranda just had a small fever but it could turn out to be serious if they don't be cautious about the medicine the doctor will give her and intruct her to take. Writing that down in the fever section of the papers, Evalin told Miranda that she had a 99.9 fever but it wasn't too serious and they had to be cautious about this for a little bit. So with that assured, Evalin checked the I.V. bag and saw that it was halfway empty. Better get a refill for this one if it goes out, she thought to herself as she writes that down in the reminder section of her paper.
Evalin was glad to be working with a child again cause both of her kids had grown up and her husband had died of pnemounia and even Evalin couldn't fix the sickness burning within him. It would be a great experience to work with a kid and see if she wasn't good enough to be a child's doctor. But the one thing that disappointed her was the fact that this child was never loved by her own parents and it was rumored that they had rejected their child and pretended like she was never there.
Sighing, Evalin just closed her eyes, stopped writing, and shakes her head. Hearing knocking, Evalin heads over to the door and opens it to find her patients grandparents standing there with very concerned expression. "Your granddaughter is fine and seems to be recovering perfectly well from her meltdown earlier, but she has a 99.9 and we will be cautious about it," explained Evalin clamly.
They smiled at her and nodded their heads before asking if they could visit her. Evalin thought about it or a moment before nodding her head yes and said that they could have a few moments alone before she has to come back in for another check-up on Miranda. Miranda opened her eyes and saw not Evalin standing by the right side of her bed, but her grandparents in her place. She smiled at the both of them while saying "Hi."
