Before i could even ask any questions the call got disconnected making me stare at my ohone in shock. After composing myself i went back inside and told Kinsley that i had to go somewhere and that we had to move out quickly.
She didn't ask me anything and just nodded her head. Her disappointment was evident on her face but i didn't have time to think about that. I was already freaking out over the phone call. I dropped Kinsley to her place and i was shocked to see that it was in the rich neighborhood.
Soon after dropping her i immediately sped towards my house and Lina had been surprisingly quite so i looked at the backseat from the rear view mirror and saw that she had fallen asleep.
The minute i got into the drive way nana came up to me and took a sleeping Lina in her arms and took her into her room. Before going she pointed her head towards the sitting room indicating me that my parents were in there.
I dropped my bag near the stairs and then entered the living room where my parents were busy on their phones. They seemed to look OK so i didn't worry that much. As my mom saw me, she told me to sit on the armchair which was opposite to where they were sitting from.
Once i was seated i asked her the question that has been bugging me since i talked to her on the phone. 'Did we get caught? Do we have to move again? Did something happen?'
'Darling shush. Nothings wrong we just wanted you home early as we are invited to a banquet held by one of the moat influencing families here. The De Lucas, they are close friends with your dad and they want to help us which is why we have been invited for their annual banquet.'
I sat their gaping at their faces as i tried to process this information. 'So your telling me, that you called me and rushed me home so you could tell me about a stupid party which you could have told over the phone? You know how worried i was?'
'I'm so sorry dear I didn't mean to scare you like that.' I calmed down after a moment and asked them when the banquet is. As it was at night and we had to go at 8 I had 4 hours to get ready.
After excusing myself from everyone i went into my room and laid down on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. After just laying there for a while i stood up and went into the closet to see if i had a dress fit for the occasion.
After searching for what seemed like hours i found a white dress which seemed as if it never had been touched. It probably never was as i don't wear dresses normally. This is probably something mom bought for me but like other items she buys for me it is untouched.
I went into the shower so that i can have a relaxing bath and since the dress had a slit i had to wax my legs. I took a good 2 hours in the shower and came out to get ready.
After drying my hair i wore my dress and then did my makeup. I didn't do too much as i hated makeup but since this was an important event i put some nude eye shadow and drew a thin eyeliner to define my eyes, and wore some mascara and wore dark red lipstick to finish is off. I just curled the ends of my hair and let it fall down my back.
After checking that everything was done i took my phone and a purse in which i kept my lipstick and some cash just in case. I went downstairs as i saw that it was 7:30 pm already. Once i was down i saw my mom fixing my dad's tie and Lina twirling in her glimmering dress.
'Oh Rose, you look beautiful darling.' Mom complimented me once she saw me. She kissed my forehead and dad gave me a hug and told me that i looked like a princess. I thanked both of them and took Lina's hand and made our way out of the house. Nana was going to stay back until we came home.
We took our Ford car since the entire family was going together. The ride to the place was short as it happened to be in the rich side of the town which we lived quite close to. Dad drove through the gates of the most extravagant looking house there. It didn't even look like a house more like a mansion, a huge one.
