I... I can't stand up. I can hardly hear. All I can hear is... Blaze. She's yelling my name, but it keeps echoing. The last I remember before falling is... Fighting Mephiles. Agh! It hurts just to think. My lip keeps feeling wet it's just... Rushing liquid. I can barely see, but I think it's... Blood.
You know what, lemme start again. From the beginning.
---------------------------------------------
"Blaze! He's wide open! Fire at the chest!" I yelled. I had Dr. Eggman's giant robot in my control, but not for long. "I gotcha Silv!" She yelled back. She focused her palms at the robot. I watched with intimidation as I saw her hands light up orange.
Rapid fireballs flew out of her palms and straight at the robot. The shots impacted on it's chest, going all the way through. The massive 20 ft tall robot fell straight down the concrete. Blaze jumped off the robot as it was tilting and falling.
I looked around in the air and everywhere to see where she landed. But I still didn't see her. I was about to yell her name, but I was cut off. She landed on me out of nowhere. I fell down onto the grass hill with her in my arms. We rolled and rolled what seemed like miles down.
But still, I had her tightly hugged in so she wouldn't get hurt or get hit on impact. We finally stopped rolling, and we were finally at flat grassland. I was so relieved. I opened my arms to see if she was hurt. Thankfully, she was left unscaved.
I let her out of my arms gently, ignoring my pain. I sat her down besides by her waist. "*cough cough* are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah. Thanks to you." She said with her usual smile. I of course, smiled back. Her smile faded quickly though.
"What's wrong?" I asked concernedly. "Silver, your chest." She said with a worried like face. I looked down and saw all the scrapes and bloody bruises from when I was rolling down the pavement. The grass stains didn't help any either.
She started studying it as she gently rubbed her finger along the side. I made a small hiss in pain. "Here." She said as she brought her palm up. I didn't like where this was going. "This is going to sting." She said with a sad expression. I just nodded to let her do it.
She nodded back. I closed my eyes tight. She slowly pressed her fiery hand against my wounds. I yelled in pain as it burnt. It was a painful process, but a fast one. "It's okay Silver... It's over now." She said with a faint smile. "What does fire do with a wound anyway?" I was curious.
"The fire closes the wound up, so it isn't open to infection." She said happily. One of my ears wilted down, as I raised one brow. She could tell I was just lost, because she had that look that basically said she isn't surprised. But her smile lifted up. "Oh Silver... You are so naive." She laughed.
I did a short glare at her for a second. She shoved me playfully. She must have pretty hard too, because it rolled me over, with her ending up on top of me. I opened my eyes back up, and her nose was almost touching mine. I blushed brightly... But I prayed she didn't see it.
You see, Blaze means everything to me! She knows she does, but not how I know. I don't like Blaze as a friend, I like her more than that. I really actually like her. But... I can't tell her. Because if I did, it could ruin our whole friendship! That we have built up for 10 years! And I'm pretty sure she doesn't feel the same.
Even she had sort of red cheeks. "S-sorry Silv." She said with a short smile. "It's okay." I smiled back, trying to hide my blush. Thankfully, she didn't notice. Thank you Jesus. I helped her back off, but the pain from all the scrapes still hurt. She heard my moan of pain, and she looked at me.
"C'mon Silver. I think you need to rest at my place for a while." She said. She helped me up happily. We began our long walk on the way back to Blaze's house. I loved this pathway. The sidewalk had a beautiful view of the green hill zone. It's just gorgeous.
"Silver?" I heard. "Yeah, what is it?" I asked curious. "Thank you... For keeping me safe from the fall." She smiled. But she turned away when she smiled... Why is that? That was different, I've never seen her do that.
"Well, remember what I told you when we first met?" I smiled. I could tell she was trying hard to concentrate and think. "I said... I'll always be there with you." I smiled happily. "That's right!"
She said with joy. She tried to hug me, but forgot about all the damage I had.
"Are you sure you want me to stay at your place Blaze? I mean you don't had to go to all that trouble." I said. "Silver, you're the bestest friend I've ever had. I would give my life to keep you safe." She said with a straight face, still looking forward. That's what made my heart want to shatter.
Bestest friend. That's all I'll ever probably be with her. Nothing more.
We finally reached her nice house. I always loved Blaze's house. "Brr.. We better get inside." Blaze said. It was already cloudy, and rain was beginning to fall heavier by the second.
We rushed inside to avoid the chilling rain. Blaze still helped me walk to her room. But why was she walking me to her room? I am so confused. I felt her shaking. I looked over at her, and she even had a scared expression on her face.
"Blaze are you okay?" I asked. She still didn't answer. Then I remembered something. I know why she's shaking. She's afraid of thunderstorms. She always has been, since we were little.

Flashback
"C'mon Silver! You're it!" Blaze laughed happily. She ran all around the house, with me chasing her. I finally caught up to her, and tagged her on the back. "Gotcha Blaze!" I laughed. Then I started running. But then I noticed she wasn't chasing me back.
So I turned back around, looking for her. I was so scared because of the thunder, blazing the flashing light through the windows. I looked in every room for her, but never found her. I finally turned the last corner, and there she was. She was curled up in a ball in the corner of the room.
"Blaze are you okay?" I asked worried. She looked up, with her ears flapped down. She looked up frightened. "Silver, I'm afraid of thunderstorms." She said worried. I don't know what came over me, but I smiled.
I ran over towards her to comfort her. She leaped right onto me, and hugged me tightly. "Silver... Can we have a sleepover?" Blaze said softly into my ear. "Sure you can!" I said happily. " yay!!" She yelled and pounced on me again.
---------------------------------------------
"You're afraid of the storm aren't you.." I sighed in sadness. I felt her claws starting to dig into fur. She hugged me tighter and tighter. "Why don't I stay over tonight." I said brightly. She looked up with a happy expression.
"Please.." She said softly. She looked so adorable right when she said that.. It melts my heart seeing her smile so beautifully. I tried hiding my blush. I apparently did it well, because she didn't see it.
She helped me into her bed. "Blaze, it's your bed I should take the couch." I said. "No, you're special to me. I'll take the couch. Besides, you're the injured one." She said happily. "It's still your bed though!" I argued back. "Silver the Hedgehog, you will stay in this bed and I'm not hearing another word about it!" She said back to me.
I knew I wasn't winning this argument. But what really made me light up inside... Was when she called me 'special'. I have never.. Heard someone call me that before. I was just so... Happy. I have never actually been really happy before.
Our lives were dark ones. I mean, Sonic and the rest eased us into this time. But pure happiness... I've never had before.
