Reluctant Trust

"Oh Vincent, I'm so glad you're okay! I was worried sick. Come in sweetheart, you must be so tired" Carol hugged her husband tightly when he finally returned home, the both of them then stepping inside of their house "Can you tell me what happened?? Where were you?".

Vincent let out a soft and disappointed exhale "I'll explain later, hun. I'm just...exhausted, ..and... there's a lot of stuff that I have to think about right now. I'm just going to relax in our room for a while". Carol nodded "Alright. Come to the living room when you're ready to talk".

"Dammit..." Vincent laid down on their bed, his legs resting over the edge. He knew Leo absolutely despised him, and he also knew that he had to make it up to him, ..but how? He couldn't just bust him out of the sanctuary! He sighed, supposing that's exactly what he had to do.

For the next 15 minutes, Vincent laid on his bed looking up at the ceiling, just thinking about what he should do. Due to all of the commotion that had happened that day, Vince was actually fairly tired. So much so that he dozed off, never really coming up with a plan.

An hour later, Vincent's soothing slumber was roughly interrupted by Carol suddenly screaming in fear from the living room. Vincent instantly shot up from the bed and hurried out the door "CAROL!". To his relief, his wife was fine, and thankfully, her screaming didn't wake up baby Julie, who was sleeping in the other room.

"Holy shit" Vincent mumbled, seeing Leo's unconscious body laying on the floor. Carol was standing behind him holding a frying pan.

She quickly dropped it and ran over to Vincent, firmly grabbing onto his arm for comfort "V-Vincent, it's a Winged! I-It climbed in through our window. What should we do?!".

Vincent ran a hand through his hair "Don't worry, Carol. I'll take care of it. ..Just stay inside and check on Julie. I'll take him to the garage. Just stay here, Okay?".

Carol nervously nodded "O-Okay".

Vincent then slowly pulled away from his wife, moving to pick Leo up off the ground and carry him to the garage.

Leo opened his eyes slowly, almost immediately feeling his splitting headache "Ahg...fuck". He lifted his head and looked around, quickly starting to panic when he realized that he was sitting on a concrete floor with his arms tied behind his back. Leo had no idea where he was or what was happening, but he knew he had to escape. He reached his hands up to the ropes that were holding his arms down, trying to cut them with his sharp claws.

At the sound of a door opening, Leo froze and looked to see who was there. He growled and bared his teeth, his ears flattening defensively. Vincent stepped into the garage and closed the door behind himself "Leo... I'm so glad you're oka-".

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, PIG!" Leo shouted angrily, abruptly cutting off the other man's words "You're DEAD, Vincent. DEAD!".

Vincent carefully approached the infuriated Winged, holding his hands out "Leo. Just hear me out. Alright?".

Leo snarled, still struggling with the rope "NO! You're fuckin' dead to me, you piece of shit! My family's in cages because of you!".

Vincent sighed and sat in front of the enraged creature, being sure to keep his distance "Leo. Just hear me out. Please. After this, I'll help you get your family back. I swear".

"Fuck you! I'm never trusting you, or anyone, ever again!" Leo barked, scooting away from the traitor by pushing his legs against the floor.

"You're going to have to listen to me, Leo. I'm not letting you out of those ropes until you hear me out" Vincent stated firmly, crossing his arms.
