"He should be here any minute." Joohyun said as she waited nervously by the front door.
"Are you absolutely sure that he's going to propose to you?" Joohyun's mother asked with a concerned expression on her face.
"Of course! You just have to give him permission. Okay, Daddy?" Joohyun looked up to her father.
"We'll see. I'd like to meet the boy first and see just who I'm handing my daughter over to."
"But, Daddy! It's my birthday, you can't say no to me!" She pouted and stomped her foot.
"Okay, Princess. It's your special day." Joohyun's father sighed and shook his head.

The doorbell rang and Joohyun immediately threw the door open.
"Happy birthday!" Wendy smiled and held out a present to the girl.
"Oh, it's you." Joohyun giggled and pulled the other inside. "Thanks." She said as she took the present and added it to the giant pile of neatly wrapped pink boxes from her parents.

"I love your dress, you look so pretty!"
"Thank you." Joohyun smiled and twirled around in the puffy pink material that nipped in tightly at the waist, almost too tightly as she was clearly uncomfortable in the outfit.

"Wendy, it's lovely to see you." Joohyun's mother said as she walked towards the girl.
"It's nice to see you too, Mrs Kim, and you, Mr Kim." Wendy bowed to Joohyun's parents.
"I hope this boyfriend of yours is as polite as Wendy." Joohyun's father chuckled, trying to hide the anxiety he was feeling at the thought of giving his daughter away.
"Thank you, Sir." Wendy giggled and bowed again. "Speaking of Yoongi, where is he?" She asked, looking around for him.
"He's not here yet." Joohyun pouted and stared down at her shoes.

"What's going on? What are all of these balloons for?" Taehyung asked as he came into the living room.
"Um, Taehyung..." His mother cleared her throat and indicated to the angered girl stood across from him.
"It's my birthday, idiot." She growled. "I'm guessing you didn't get me a present then..." She rolled her eyes.
"I'm kidding, chill. Of course I got you a present, idiot." He repeated her words before holding out a box that he'd been holding behind his back.
"Thanks." She scowled at him and snatched the present from him to add it to the pile of presents in the corner of the room.
"Brat." He muttered as he walked over to the couch and started to play games on his phone.

The doorbell rang and Joohyun was disappointed yet again to welcome more of her friends into her home, wishing that Yoongi would come soon.
