ONE,

FALL AND CAFETERIA CROWDS.

IT WAS A CHILLY OCTOBER MORNING, when jungkook first laid eyes on yerim.

she looked so godly and ethereal that for a moment, jungkook wondered if she was even real.

he had never seen anyone this beautiful, and although she was stuck in the daily school cafeteria crowd and it was only a mere second when jungkook took a glance at her,

he knew.

he knew she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen, because she still stayed alluring in the midst of everything.

then a tap on his shoulder came, and bothered his train of thoughts. he turned around and saw hanbyul, his childhood friend who had a crush on him, and still has a crush on him.

"hey," she spoke in a gentle tone as she smiled, and sat down next to him, her lunch food tray in her hands. "what were you looking at? you seemed so distracted."

jungkook's mind went confused for a second, before replying. "nothing," he shrugged it off.

hanbyul started talking about her new physics teacher, and how boring his class was. however, he did not even pay attention to her, because who would, especially when they're starstruck by a beautiful stranger.

and when he looked back into the crowd where he expected to see her again,

she was out of his sight, lost in the crowds.

-

yerim ran her fingers through her hair as she grumbled, with a frown on her face. it was the first day of school after summer break, and she had never been so annoyed, with the school. well, to be specific, the school's daily cafeteria crowd.

summer break was disastrous for her, considering the fact that she got dumped by the end of it. she hasn't even gotten over the heartbreak yet, and now back to school? nahhh fam. not her favourite.

"you've been in this school for like, your whole life, and you're acting as if this whole cafeteria crowd thing is a new thing to you," the girl who stood beside yerim spoke, turning yerim's gaze over to her. yerim raised her eyebrow at her, and let out a sigh.

ahreum slightly laughed at yerim. "you still heartbroken over jaehyun?"

yerim looked up from the floor to meet ahreum's eyes. "i don't wanna talk about him, dude."

ahreum scoffed, feeling awkward by the fact that yerim pushed the topic away. she was surprised, as yerim would never give up an opportunity to talk about her ex everytime she broke up with someone.

just that moment, a taller figure walked past the both of them, turning their heads. it was jeon jungkook from their grade, and from what yerim remembered, ahreum used to have a small crush on him before giving him up.

yerim looked up at him, not expecting to see the scene she was seeing. he was good-looking, in the golden sunlight seeping through the blinded windows of the cafeteria. well, not bad-looking. she had heard things about him before, that he was the boy everyone seemingly has a crush on, but she had never expected him to be this attractive.

but then her brain reminded her of the promise she made, the morning after the night she got dumped by jaehyun. never fall in love again, yerim. fall in love again and i'll hit your dumb headass, i swear to god, kim yerim.

ahreum spoke.

"you know, jeon jungkook from the class next door isn't that bad."
