It came and went like a bolt of lightning. One second it was just a group of friends playing around by the valley and then I stumbled back, my friends scrambling to try and grab my hands, trying to pull me back to safety. It was no use though. I just kept falling, the air soaring past me. I could almost the amount of pain I'd go through when I hit the ground below, I tried to scream out. My friends were standing looking over gaping, wondering what the hell they just saw. I crushed upon impact, I felt my body fold into itself. I could still see the sunlight though, the little bits of grass sprouting from the Earth. I could see it all, I wasn't dead. I know I wasn't. I tried to stand up, my body pulsed with a sharp pain. I tried to roll over my side, another quick pain. I sigh, I hear footsteps coming toward me. Helen is in tears, her voice trembling as she forces out words.
"Eddie? Can you hear me? Wriggle your fingers if you can." She rubbed my hands, I could see her blue eyes filled with tears. The same blue eyes I stared into when I was dancing with her at the 6th grade dance. She looked so beautiful, look at her now. Scared out of her mind and stroking my hair gently like I'm a scared puppy or something.
"He's dead Helen." Reece says in the distance, I try to look from where his voice came from. He was standing a little ways back. He seems to frightened to approach me, so he's letting his girlfriend sob for him. Pathetic.
"H-h-Helen p-p-please." She spins around, her face red from crying. "C-c-call a-ambulance." I stammer. She nods. Reece moves forward a bit more as she walks away, trying to describe where we are.
"Well well Eddie looks like another time you've narrowly escaped. How are you not dead yet? You'd think after someone pushes you off a cliff you'd die but huh clearly not." He places he foot on my mangled shoulder. I look up at him, he smiles evilly back.
"I'll figure you out eventually Eddie. One day you're going to die and I'm going to be the one to kill you."
