Sam's P.O.V.

I now had a plan to help Y/n. It was a good plan, but that didn't mean I had to like it. In order to help her I need to get her a lawyer. That's why I am sitting in the cold dull waiting area of McCloud and Moore. This is the firm I worked at before I became a cop. It also happens to be the same firm my ex-girlfriend works at. I don't particularly like her or Crowley. Both of them are untrustworthy and manipulative, but that's exactly what Y/n needs right now. Both Jessica and Crowley are the best at what they do.

While I am waiting for them to see me my mind thinks back to the events leading up to my break up with Jess and leaving the firm.

~Flashback~

It was a bright warm summer day. My mood was perpetually happy, I felt like nothing could go wrong on such a nice day as today. I walked quickly to Jesses office, I wanted to tell her about the dinner reservations I had made for tonight. I got us a table at the best restaurant in town, it was perfect for what I had planned. Tonight, I was going to propose to the love of my life. When I got to her office I swiftly knocked on the door before pushing it open.

"Hey Jess guess what........" I stopped mid-sentence as I watched a disheveled Jess pull away from an equally disheveled Brady. I stood there in the door way staring at the pair of them as they hurriedly tried to fix their cloths.

"Sam, hey babe." Jess stood up and buttoned her blouse up before making her way towards me.

"What the hell Jess!" I yelled stopping her advancement. "Your cheating on me! With Brady of all people!!"

"I was going to tell you Sam." She said defensively like she was the one who was hurt.

I glared at her and Brady who had walked up behind her. I was starting to see red, my anger getting out of control. "Bullshit. You were never going to tell me. Whatever, I'm glad I know now." I turned and marched to the door and stood right in front of it. "Have a nice life." I threw over my shoulder with as much hatred as I could get in my voice.

With that I walked out, slamming the door behind me. I marched to Crowley's office telling him I was taking a few days off. Those few days were spent at the Roadhouse drowning in a bottle of Jack. After that I went back to work. No one would have ever guessed how much I was hurting, how pissed I was to see both Jess and Brady every day. My life went on and eventually I got over her. My career was on the fast track, a partnership in the near future. But none of it mattered, I felt useless and upset. Being a lawyer just didn't seem as great as it did when I first started. I didn't feel like I was making a difference. So, I left, much to the joy of Crowley, who always felt threatened by me.

~End of flashback~

"Crowley will see you now." The small brunette spoke up from behind her massive desk. Without looking up at me.

"Thanks Ruby." I mumbled as I walked past her. She still didn't like me it looked like. I walked to Crowley's office door and knocked waiting to be aloud in.

"Enter." The pompous British accent called from the other side.

I straitened my shoulders and pushed the door open. Crowley's office was just like it was before I left. There was a massive mahogany desk in front of the window that took up the entire wall. The same large over stuffed brown leather chairs and expensive art work. Crowley was standing in the corner of the room pouring himself a drink.
