Space bound

Chapter 1

I'm sitting in physics, waiting for the clock to strike half-past three. We're learning about how people can be able to live on other planets with the right living conditions and climate. I'm not paying too much attention to the teacher; I'm occupied by doodling pictures of funny faces in the text book on my table. I decide to pick up my blue ball point pen and choose to colour in the hair of my creation. I'm not drawing any particular person, just random expressions that come to mind. This particular face I drew at the beginning of the lesson looks really cool. 

I'm not too much of an artist when I think about it, but I've got a lot better since the start of the term. I lean towards Eli, who is my best friend. We've been best friends since year four. I remember meeting him at the start of the year. We had to have buddies to stay with for the entire week and i was assigned to him. He's a really good friend in my opinion and is always there for me. Our motto is - We'll always have each other's backs, no matter in what situation.

"Hey Eli, wanna come over to my house after school?" I whispered to him under the teacher's voice.

"Sure, what are we gonna do at yours?" He replied as he dropped his pen to the paper.

I'm not too sure on why his name is Eli, but it sounds cool. Maybe his parents are from a foreign country or something. He does look tanned but I don't know, he's always trying to impress the girls in our class with his 'Mystic Charm' he claim to has. I don't believe him for one second. I quietly smirk with my hands covering my pale face.

"I'm not too sure, maybe we can play on my brother's game console?" I respond. 

I know my brother will flip if he finds our that we're going to play on his gaming console. He begged and begged for it, until he got one for Christmas. I got a remote control car, which is way better than what he had. He's got the limited edition console that he thinks is the best one but the companies are always bringing out new consoles to make a quick buck.

"I'll come over at your house after school if my mum is fine with it" Eli says.

"See you in a bit" I quickly say to him as the school bell rings.
