Everything Is Not What It Seems || SEoneshot Competition

I smiled as the kids ran around the room. Who knew that I would have ended up here. Married to my crush and being able to be a parent.

I soon felt the couch sink beside me and knew who it was just by the way he smelt. He looked at me with that smile that always managed to have butterflies fluttering wildly inside of me. 

"Can you tell us the story again" Our daughter chirped as our son nodded

I smiled because I knew exactly which story they were talking about.

"Please" They asked in unison

"Okay, okay" I say chuckling

They gathered at our feet and waited patiently. 

 

*Flashback*

I added the finishing touches to my outfit and took one more glance at the mirror before heading downstairs. Tamara squealed as she saw me and I shook my head taking the last few steps. She had managed to persuade me into going on a blind date with some guy. 

After she pestered me a million times I finally decided to go. There was a knock on the door as she smiled while pushing me to it. I sighed Might as well get this over with.

I opened the door and gasped. In front of me standing was a familiar face in a dashing suit. I stole a glance at Tamara but she just gave me an evil grin. She made a shooing motion and I stepped out. 

"You look good" He said eyeing me up and down

I blushed and mumbled, "You too" 

"Shall we?" He asked

I nodded and walked down the driveway. He opened the door for me and I hopped in. He jogged to the driver's side and got in starting the car and reversing out. He turned on the radio and Aerosmith slowly made its way through the car. 

I smiled and looked outside at my surroundings. 

"So where are we going?" I asked stealing a glance at him

"Ugh, well, I was thinking of going for dinner then go watch a vintage movie" He said looking at me then back the road.

I nodded and hummed along to the song that was playing. Soon we reached the restaurant and he parked in the lot. We both walked to the entrance and he opened the door for me. 

As soon as we walked in someone escorted us to a table and placed menus before us. Soon enough we was digging into our appetizers. 

"So how has it been?" I asked trying to make small talk 

"Its been good and what not" He said 

Then the silence came I picked at my food. I didn't know what else to say especially since I haven't seen him in a while. 

We were half way through desert and that's when he busted through the restaurant's door. I stared in horror as he walked quickly to us. He looked disheveled, his hair stood in every direction and he was gasping for breath. 

"I need to speak to you" He said in between breaths 

"Not now I'm kinda on a date here" I say gritting my teeth 

"It's important" He said 

"Well whatever it is I sure it can wait" I said turning back to my date.
