14 year old Alex Joan had not expected to find herself hiding in the bathroom in the building "Rich Ladies Bookclub". She wasn't rich and she wasn't even allowed in the building but she still managed to sneak in. All for a book. A very special book that can control time and it just might ruin the world if she doesn't get it back from the person that took it from her.

"Calpurnia, dear, I'm going to go use the women's' restroom." said someone with a British accent.

Gosh, what's with all the accents? Thought Alex. Wait... Oh no! She's coming over here!

Alex panicked, going into one of the stalls and sitting on the toilet lid with her legs off the ground. The door opened and in came a pair of red, shiny heels.

The lady did her business, flushing the toilet and going to wash her hands.

All of this is keeping me from looking for the man who stole the book, thought Alex, frustrated.

The lady finally left and Alex quickly got up and out of the stall. She waited for a minute or so before escaping the bathroom and leaving to find the man.

But she stumbled into one of the ladies.

"Who are you and how did you get in?" The woman's tone was sharp. She seemed to be preparing to call a guard.

Alex was nervous and when she was nervous she's stutters. She decided to use it to her advantage because no way was she gonna get thrown out before she gets that book. "A-a man stole my b-book."

"Can't you get another book."

(A/N: Switching to Alex's First Person POV)

I shook my head, thinking about how the book held the power to destroying the world and the reality of everything that happened in the past few hours hit me. Hard. Tears gathered up in my eyes and my shoulders slumped. "N-no." I said in a shaky voice. "It was a o-one of a kind. An important book passed down to me from my m-mom." Okay so maybe the last part is a lie. But it really was a one of a kind and it was important.

I don't why or how but the women's eyes softened. "I've never seen a child as dedicated to a book as you are. Even if it is passed down from your family. Don't worry, I'll ask some of the guards downstairs to look for him. Did you see how he looked like or where he last was?"

I explained the details of how he looked like and how the last place I saw him was this building. I also told her the title of the book; The Text of Time. She sent some guards to find him.

20 minutes later 2 guards came back with the Italian accented man.

"Is this him?"

I nodded.

"Here's the book."

I retrieved it. The book will be safe in my hands.
