Chapter Two: The View

Saiki's Pov

School trips are annoying. It's the prime of most high schooler's lives, but to me they are pointless. I can go anywhere I want and be back in three minutes.

"Mera is no longer able to attend the trip so now its uneven. Teruhashis group will split and pair with another!"

"Wait what about Akino? She doesn't have a group?" All eyes went to the desk she sat at. "Actually I don't think I should go.. I'm scared of planes.." That second part was quiet, but I heard it.

I can understand why she wouldn't want to go, but she's drawing a lot of attention. I watched the likability meter plummet down to 46. "Ah come on!" "Please do it?" "What a bummer.."

Kaido stepped up. "She said she didn't want to do it! Now leave her alone!"

"Aw the dork has a crush on her." "What a loser.."

Akino's eyes closed. "I'll go." "OK! Akino will room with Teruhashi, Chiyo, Nendo, Kaido, and Saiki!" 'This isn't so bad. Other than the fact I will have to deal with two obsessive girls and two perverts.'

"A typhoon, seriously?!" "We have to cancel the trip." "No!!!"

My eyes scanned over the upset class and I honestly didn't care. The thing that caught my attention was Akino. She was sitting near the wall away from everyone reading a book.

As if on que her eyes trailed up towards mine. I still can't read her thoughts, and I don't see right through her either. It's strange and I don't like it. She looked around and shrugged, going back to reading her book.

A small smile was on her face. A group of my sad classmates were getting loud around her and I noticed her shift uncomfortably, not being able to focus.

I sighed and handled the typhoon. Only one person noticed I was wet so it shouldn't hurt.

Akino's Pov

I was eating a snack Chiyo handed me when I felt it. The shaking of the plane threw several of us out of our seats.

Someone was on my ankle and I could feel a throbbing pain. I groaned, one of my eyes closing as I tried to move it. "E-Excuse me.." I mentally cursed myself as I heard how weak I sounded. I felt an aura move further away and I closed my eyes to focus on getting free.

The pain got worse and I wimpered in pain and in fear. 'Someone save us!' Moments later the plane stopped shaking and I heard a sarcastic "sorry" from the person who was on my ankle and the weight was lifted.

I stood up and stumbled from the pain in my foot, grabbing the nearest object to me to stabilize myself. It was hard as a rock! But this feeling.. I looked up to be met with the cold look from.. "S-Saiki?" I felt him sigh and I let go, reaching back towards the ground to find my book.

Saiki's Pov

While everyone was looking out the window I noticed Akino with a fake smile on her face. Strange.

Kaido began using the dialect from Okinawa which grew really annoying as time flew by. Even Teruhashi and Chiyo thought this.

(Ugh filler parts are so boring to write..I'm sorry for all of the timeskips and pov switches. I'm not sure how to write this without doing this. I'm still a beginner at this sorta thing so I'd appreciate some tips)

I closed my eyes, trying to take a nap, when suddenly, my eyes shot open. Something was very wrong. I glanced around, not noticing anything right off the bat.

I sighed in annoyance.

We arrived to the beach house. Nendo instantly spoke up. "Best friend!" I nodded, glancing back at Akino, who was getting off the bus about ten feet away. She looked so lost.

I tried to read her mind, but instead of that, her eyes met with mine again. I clenched my fist. There was definitely something wrong with her. A group of guys swarmed her, causing her eyes to get dragged away from me.

Her hand began to shake slightly at all of the people talking at once. I looked at Nendo, who was looking for our group. Future me mentally punched me, but I walked away.

"Oi! Lights out!" "Teach, we can't find Akino," "Wah? Are you serious?" I turned away from them and walked into my room, staring at Nendo, who looked worried from what he just heard. Hairo began planning a search. I sighed in annoyance and used my clairvoyance.

Akino's Pov

After settling down, I found my way outside and began walking barefoot in the sand. My feet at the edge of the water. I smiled in the directions of the water, memories of the past flooded my mind. My hand rose to my heart.

"Brother, I will return home soon. I promise." "Oi." My eyes widened slightly and I turned, looking in the direction of the voice.

"Saiki?" "You have everyone worried. You suddenly walked off." I clenched my fist, which was still resting on my chest, a sad smile making its way onto my features. "It isn't like they will remember.." "What?"

My eyes widened in shock as I realized I spoke my mind. "Ah, I mean. it's kinda late so they might not remember..?" I let out a small nervous laughter while rubbing the back of my head.

I could feel his eyes were on me now, examining my features. Almost irritably, he sighed again. "Make sure you get back soon. Otherwise you will have Nendo and an entire Hairo army after you."

Saiki's Pov

She looked at ease when looking towards the ocean, but where was it she wanted to go, and what did she mean by they wouldn't remember anyways?

I stared into her still sad eyes. I turned towards her and stepped closer to her, my hand reaching towards her face. "Eh?"

She flinched and blinked a confused expression on her face as my hand touched the side of her head. "S-Saiki.. what are you.." "Your bow is crooked." I adjusted it and when I pulled my hand back, I noticed a small tint of red on her cheeks. "T-Thank you."

I nodded, my eyes trailing up to the sunset. She looked at me. "Saiki..what is your favorite place in the world?" Her voice was very soft, and I knew she had that sad smile on her face.

"Home." Her eyes dropped slightly with my answer. "Me too.." "Yo buddy!" We both turned and I watched as all of my roomates ran towards us. Kaido tackled her in a hug and I noticed her face heat up slightly at the fact she didn't see it coming.

"U-Uh.." Nendo picked the guy up and set him down while helping Akino stand up. She seemed to shrink slightly while looking around. I shook my head and looked out at the sky.
