It's him, in the flesh.
Out of millions person in this world, it has to be him, standing in your living room. His hair a bit damp due to the rain, but not wet enough to leave a trace of water droplets. You wanted to run at his sight, but it feels like your feet glued on the floor. You're taking a deep breath each time, then you realize a young boy around Nari's age sitting down on the couch with Nair herself. That you presume it must be Hansol, Nari's soulmate.
"Auntie! This is Hansol and his uncle, Uncle Taehyung! Hansol this is my best auntie in this world!" Nari runs up to you and hugs you.
"Nice to meet you Nari's auntie." Hansol politely bow. You smile at the boy but you cannot gather yourself to look at the man beside him.
"Y/N...", Taehyung whisper more to himself.
Subconsciously you step back and your mind finding a way to excuse yourself from this moment to hide in your room. "I have a ton of works to finish. You can watch the tv and drink the tea meantime. And please feel yourself at home."Taking a big step you halt away into your room.
-
The rains stopped an hour later.
Sitting upright in your bed, you killing time by doing works that have a long overdue for about next month. Then you hear a knock on your door.
Nari slips her head curiously. "They're gone home now, are you coming out of your room?"
Crap.
She notices the awkward tension you had earlier. "U-uhm yeah, in a bit."
Then Nari inviting herself in, laying down in your bed looking at you with that same curious expression. "Is there anything wrong auntie? Do you not like Hansol? Or do I make you upset? I swear I didn't eat your yogurt this time!"
"No! Of course not, I'm happy you got Hansol as your soulmate. From stories you've been told me before, I'm sure he's a great person." You close your laptop, looking at her back.
"Then, what happened?" she insists, she pries your hands from her hair.
You honestly don't know what to do, whether to tell her the truth or not. But you knew you couldn't hide it from her forever, she's an important person in your life.
"Nari, you used to ask me where's my soulmate is right?" You start off and try to not tear up in front of her.
She only nods, eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Well, you're right. Just like your mum and dad, I have one as well."
"Soulmate is someone who you supposed to love, cherish and make memories with. Until deaths do them apart."
"I know auntie." She starts to rush you into the main topic.
"But some people don't stand on that belief. They rather find someone on their own. Rather on waiting or stick with the beliefs."
"Do you mean like they reject their soulmate?" Nari is a smart girl, she picks up everything so quickly. So you just smile instead.
"Isn't it hurt? Like you being left off by someone who supposed to love you ?"
"It does."
"Do— I don't understand auntie. What do you mean by telling me all of this? Hansol won't reject me right?" She baffled by your explanation.
"Of course not! he won't reject you, you guys spent the afternoon together and he seems really enjoyed it." You stroke her hair again.
All of a sudden she realized something, then she looks at you with the same pity eyes her mum did when you told her about this.
"Kim Taehyung, is my soulmate. And he rejected me."
