Chapter 3: The Mystery Shack Part 1

Alex was unpacking in her bedroom when her mom walked in. "Honey, will you take a look at this!" Alex looked up at her mom. She had a pamphlet in her hand with a fat sloppy question mark on the cover. "There's a place called 'The Mystery Shack' nearby with spoooky artifacts!"

"It's probably just a tourist trap"she mumbled grumpily. She didn't admit how weird she thought her mom was acting.

She was in a bad mood because she had been packing since noon today and it was currently...she checked her watch, 6:35 was printed onto the digital screen. She also didn't want her mom to know she was scared because her dreams warned her of supernatural beings there.

Her mom said, "We should go together!Just you and me. How about it?" Alex thought for a minute. "What about dad?" She asked. "What about him?" asked her mother. "Maybe we should let him come, we don't want to exclude him."

"He's busy loading boxes out of the car." her mom replied. "He'd be more than happy to get us out of the way." Alex said, "Okay, let's go." she knew there was no way out of this. "Great! Come on!"

Alex and her mom arrived at The Mystery Shack pretty quickly considering it was five minutes away. "Here it is." said her mom. Alex looked up at the sign. 'Mystery _Hack' .They walked in. "So much for spooky artifacts." Said Alex. She saw a dear's head glued to a six pack. Six Packalope. She looked at some kid working there. "Nice." she said. "Um...give the credit to Soos over there." said the kid. She looked over at a teenager with eyeballs glued to his arms. She laughed. Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all.

Alex bought a T-Shirt with a puma on it, and her mom bought a bumper sticker that said, 'What is the mystery shack?'

They both walked home and as Alex fell asleep in her bed she couldn't help thinking about that brown haired boy...
