-Markus' POV-
Jericho was fairly quiet, despite there now being android rights.
While, yes, this is a good day for our people, we didn't exactly..win. Many innocent androids were killed or harmed during the fight. And do you expect humans just to immediately stop treating us like garbage? It's only day one, and it is probably going take years until we become accepted as actual living, breathing, beings.
As I was sitting down on a random bench, stuck in my thoughts, I got interrupted by someone gently tapping me on the shoulder. I looked up to only realise it was North. I smiled at her, earning a smile back, her then sitting down next to me. She rested her head on my shoulder, causing me to flinch and get up. "I'm sorry North, I just- I just wanna be by myself right now." I said, beginning to walk off. I looked back at her, she looked confused, and yet so hurt at the same time. I sighed, finding a corner I could sit in so I could continue thinking.
Once again stuck in my thoughts, I got interrupted a second time by someone saying my name. I frowned "North! I told you I wanted to be left al-" I was cut off by the sight of a male android. It was Simon. "Oh shit, sorry, I just thought you were North." I said, feeling slightly embarrassed. "Can..I sit here?" He asked, I nodded, and so he sat down next to me. I like Simon, he's nice. I kind of wish North was like him. I feel like North and I's relationship was kinda..forced. I never wanted to be in a relationship with her because I thought of her more like a close friend, not a partner. But I know she likes me, and I know she's had a troubled life, so I didn't wanna make it worse and just..reject her.
"Markus? Are you alright?" I heard Simon say. "yeah, I'm good." I replied, obviously lying. How could I be 'good' when I just witnessed the death of many, many androids? Not only that, but I'm in a relationship that I don't even want to be in! I smiled weakly. It was a fake smile though. I was hiding behind a mask because I don't wanna stress people out more then they probably are.
I looked Simon in the eyes. They looked somewhat worried, but they were also filled with..something else, although I couldn't tell what it was. "..are you sure?" He asked, I just nodded, not saying anything. But I didn't need to, a simple nod could just do. He nodded in return, getting up. "I suppose I'll leave you be." He smiled and walked off. I just sat there, watching the male android walk off until he was out of sight.
I sighed. Tomorrow will be better, I promise.
-Connor's POV-
I walked around Jericho, exploring it and taking in the sight since I didn't get to properly..see it before. Plus, I wanted to meet more androids because I barely know anyone here since I haven't really talked to anyone. That is of course, besides from Markus, North and Simon.
It's so strange to feel no emotion once, like I was just a machine built to serve, but now to feel- a wave of emotion. To feel like I'm actually alive. To think I was once a Deviant hunter. A Deviant hunter that was now a Deviant himself. Huh, funny. Wow Connor, you can really surprise yourself sometimes!
I laughed at my thoughts, looking around at all the other androids. I didn't live at Jericho like most of the androids do. I live with Hank, who's like a father to me. And I'm like a son to him! He doesn't admit it though. But I mean, he has once- but when he was drunk of course. Although, I believe alcohol is like the 'truth telling' drink, or something like that. If you drink to much of it, you start to tell the truth!-
I'm sorry..not really.
As I was exploring, I came across North who looked like she was about to cry. Or break something? It was hard to tell. Even though her and I didn't know each other too well, and she probably doesn't trust me that much, I still decided to ask her if she was okay. "Hey uh,, North? Are you alright?" I asked, sitting down next to her. "Well.." she started.
To be continued.
A/N: Hey! Did you like the first chapter? I hope so! It's alright if you don't though,, anyway..sorry the first chapter was short! The next chapter might be longer..hopefully! Welp- bye!
