Touko's Sinnoh Journey

CHAPTER 1

Touko looks out at the sky from her frosty window. The sky was a dark charcoal color, dusting the earth below with snow flurries. She heaves a great sigh, thinking about how much her life has changed ever since Touya, her best friend let alone her boyfriend, left her for the Kalos Region, a region East across the Cerulean Sea from her home region, Unova. Touko stands up and slinks down the stairs, each step draining energy out her. She enters the cozy living room where she finds her mother gazing into the fireplace. Touko grabs her coat, scarf, hat and gloves. "Thanks Mom, for the travel money... I'm off to the train station. I'll keep in touch... and I will call you when I make it to Sinnoh." Her mother sighs quietly "I will miss you my dear. Remember Sinnoh is North of Unova, so stay warm and watch those mountain passes on your way there! Stay safe and call me frequently please!" She walks over and gives a tight hug and smiles "Don't worry. I've got my Pokémon to protect me." She reassures her. Touko turns on her heel, and exits the warm house to start a pilgrimage of her own. Leaving that house, was comparable to leaving her old life and everything else behind.

Outside was bitter. The air chilled your lungs with every breath you took. Touko burrows her mouth and nose into the folds of her scarf, using it as a shield from the frost. She grabs a small ball with blue waves patterned around, called a dive ball a type of pokéball from her bag "Swanna come on out!" Touko exclaims semi muffled, while tossing the dive ball into the air. The Swanna flashes out with sparks of red light, giving a quite squawk while flapping her wings happily. A beautiful white swan looking Pokémon appeared hovering in front of her, with blue shell looking crests on her breast. "Ok, you're going to fly me to Nimbasa city... Is that alright with you girl?" Swanna squawks in agreement, she lowers down for Touko to hop onto her back. After positioning herself on the bird, they take off going North to Nimbasa city together. Picking up altitude, the wind rustling through her hair and stinging her eyes. Flying through the snowy air was like flying through a shower of sewing needles. After a while Swanna decreases altitude and lands in front of the train station in Nimbasa city. Touko hops of Swanna's back and smiles weakly, briefly thanks the Pokémon, and returns the Swanna into the dive ball it originally came out from.

Nimbasa is a small city, mainly known for their subway train station. The most popular of the trains you can board is known as the Battle Train, where young trainers battle their way through the trip, each challenger an increase in difficulty. This time Touko would be boarding a train that will carry her away to a distant region, full of new exploration and Pokémon. She takes a sharp breath and slowly exhales, closing her eyes tight. 'There is no going back after this... I won't have enough money to get home. I will have to beat the Elite 4 in order to buy a ticket home' she thinks inside her head. Defeating the Elite 4 is battling the 4 strongest pokemon trainers in the region, all leading up to the Champion trainer of the Region. Touko opens her eyes, feeling willpower wash over her like warm water. She walks down the stairs and into the subway station, the air smelling like cheap coffee, and trash. Antidotes and Paralyze heals, a spray in which you use on Pokémon to heal from paralysis or poisoning, littered the ground around the trash cans near the Battle Train. Touko checks her ticket:

Boarding at 5:30 pm

Nimbasa City to Southern Sinnoh '

Looking up at the clock tower seeing 5:00, she still had half an hour before they board the train. Touko takes a seat on an old bench and pulls out her X-Transceiver, a modified watch with a touch screen interface which allows you to see the person you're conversing with, scrolling through her contact list she stops at 'Touya' and stares at the name before her. Feeling her heart sink a little she closes the X-Transceiver and shoves it to the bottom of her bag, forcing her to forget the sadness. Touko stands up and decides to walk around the giant circular station. Looking at all the crowds of children in line for the battle train, she smiles and laughs quietly remembering when she was 13 years old. But 2 years later, and everything in Unova seems the same everyday... going to Sinnoh will be a good new scene. Touko decides to stop by the rundown café and buy a small coffee, after ordering she walks back to her little bench.

Taking small sips of her coffee, smiling and waving to the occasional passerby. The station was small, and quaint, Touko was very familiar with all the platforms and the whereabouts of each train. "Now boarding on Platform 7! Nimbasa to Southern Sinnoh! Platform 7!" She stands up slowly after the announcement and walks over to Platform 7, while walking Touko grabs the ticket from her pocket. Finally arriving to the ticketing counter she hands her ticket over to the ticket master "Thank you ma'am for choosing Nimbasa Trainway! We should arrive in Southern Sinnoh in about 4 days. Enjoy the ride!" Touko nods and strolls over casually to the boarding deck, surprised about the 3,200 mile trip ahead of her. She puts one foot onto the train then pulls herself up and boards the train.
