I get up, ready for another week of school. The weekend seemed to drag on. I had violin lessons each day for 2 hours. 2 flipping hours! I sigh, looking over at the dreaded instrument.
After my shower, I look in my closet and sigh. I own only dresses and skirts! My parents don't believe in shorts. Hello, it's the 21st century, I should be able to wear what I want as long as I'm covered. I slip on the most comfortable dress I could find, a cotton tee shirt dress.
At least it's lavender, I think. I put on white flats and put on the least amount of make up I can wear in this house.
*History Class*
I walk in and sit down. Today, we are just going to be working on our essays. I'm nervous, because Liam is my partner ad there is just something about him, I don't know what it is. He walks in, with tan cargo shorts and a green v neck shirt.
I suck in a breath, and when he sits down I look at him. He looks back, and I feel his eyes scan my body. He smirks, "Do you only own dresses, Princess?" I look at him and say "Yes." flatly. He puts an eyebrow up, but I ignore it as Mr. Nick walks in.
"Okay, everyone, you know what to do."
He sits at his desk, and gets on his computer as everyone goes to their partner. I look at Liam and explain.
"My parents don't believe in shorts, or teeshirts." I look at him as he looks confused. "My parents are rich, and they want nice reputations. I even had to have violin lessons since I was five."
He looks at me, then speaks up, "Okay, that must be like living in hell. I thought you were some stuck up beauty queen. I guess I was wrong. Sorry about that."
I look at him and smile shyly.
"So, Liam, tell me about yourself."
"Well, I moved from Wisconsin with my mother because my father was put in prison, because he murdered someone when we was drinking and driving. I hated him anyways." I stare at him, looking into his blue eyes. He coughs and looks down. He laughs "I actually never tell anyone about my family. I just, feel like you can keep it a secret, Rose." He looks down, then flicks his eyes up. "What's your full name?" I look around and see that everyone is busy with the essay.
"It's Rosalyyn May Lewis. But please just call me Rose. It sounds less snobbish."
"Alright, Rose." He smiles and for some reason, my stomach flutters. I smile back and the bell rings. He stands up and grabs my hand. "Where are we going?" I say as he pulls me into the parking lot.
"I'm buying you a pair of shorts, a teeshirt, and some converses." He stops at a blue jeep, which is a nice car for North Carolina. I get in, smiling.
After driving for ten minutes, I speak up.
"Why are you doing this? You barely know me." I look at him and he glances at me.
He takes a couple of minutes then replies quietly "You're different." He smiles slightly, then shrugs.
We pull up to the mall and he grabs my hand and pulls me into this store I've heard about, American Eagle. "Oh my goodness, I've always wanted to buy something from here but my parents thought it was not good enough!"
I walk through the entrance and I notice that he still has my hand. I leave it there, because I like how it fits perfectly with mine. Cliché, I know. "Ooh I like these!" I exclaim as I grab a pair of white shorts with little tears in them. I see a light blue shirt that says "Do what makes you happy." and I grab that as well. I see another pair of dark wash high waisted shorts and grabbed a crop top that was red. "I want these." I look at him and he laughs. "What?" I say, narrowing my eyes.
"You're acting like a little kid in a candy store, it's cute."
I blush and we walk up to the cash register. We pay and he takes me into this store called Shoe Show.
He pulls me in and I see Vans and I run over there picking up a pair. I see these galaxy ones, then some grey ones. I look to see how much they are, and see they are 2 for 35.50! I look over and see blue Converses and I see they are only ten dollars, because they are an old edition.
Oh well, I still want em. I walk up to the cashier and go to pay, but Liam pulls my hand back and pulls out a credit card.
"No, Liam, it's alright I got it." He looks at me and says "I want to." I step back and when we are done, we walk out of the store and I grab his hand and stop him.
"Thank you for this." I say quietly and he brushes one of my curls off of my face.
"You're welcome." He says back.
We walk out of the mall, and I don't let go of his hand until we get to the car.

I pull up into our circle drive way, and grab all of my bags from the back seat.
I walk upstairs into my room, pulling on the new outfit with the white shorts.
My mother walks by and comes into my room. "Rosalyyn!" I look at her and she has a look of pure horror. "What? It's just shorts." She looks at me and sighs.
"You know we have a reputation!"
"Mother, please," I say as I gently push her out of my room. I lay back on my bed, smiling as I think of Liam's hand in mine.
