"I need your help!"
Jules eyes widened slightly, and he hastily closed the space between them to get a better view at the cat in Milos arms. Milo realized that he sounded it a bit more dramatic than his situation was. Hell, Jules probably thinks he messed up in some way. Also, the fact how close Jules was definitely didn't helped Milo focusing. He took a step back and started speaking again, this time being more focused on the reason why he came here in first place.
"No worries. Seonmi is okay. But I mean: can you do me a favor?" Milo watched Jules relaxing. "My landlord doesn't allow cats and he threatened to throw me out with her. I couldn't bear to think of her being abandoned again. Alone and cold. But I know no one besides you who could take her and-"
Milo looked up to see furrowed eyebrows and a hesitant look on Milos face.
"Please with a cheery on top?"
"I'm not sure. I-" He paused and took in the big sparkly eyes of not only Milo but also Seonmi who poked her head out of the blanket.
Another sigh. "okay fine." Jules grumbled.
Milo nearly jumped to hug Jules but tiny claws inside his arm made him remember that he currently couldn't throw himself at the stranger.
"Thank you. Like again. You saved her and all, like twice."
"It's fine", Jules said. "But I'm not sure if I can take her home. But she can stay in the ambulant room, where we keep animals who stay here, for a while. I can find someone who takes her?"
"Yeah. That would be perfect."
For the second time that day he followed Jules into the, from the waiting hall separated, area behind the counter. Seonmi was suspiciously quiet in his arms. They walked past the room they entered earlier into another one where big cages filled with cuddly stuffed blankets were standing.
Jules opened one of the empty cages. After detaching Seonmis claws from his sweater Milo set inside carefully. She eyed him suspiciously but only shifted her tiny body to settle more comfortably into the blankets.
Quiet but with curios eyes she watched Jules close the cage and the two of them slowly leave the room only to start meowing once they were out of sight.
Damn it.
It was not only a tiny meow but a loud and hurt one and Milo was already beside her, before he even noticed himself moving. "It's okay Seonmi. Jules over here will take care of you for a little while." Her meowing stopped with Milo's whispered words and she starred at him with wide curious eyes. "I would love to stay with you tiny one, but I can't".
But when Milo tried to leave the room again, Seonmi started meowing loudly again. Jules let out an exasperated sigh. His nose was slightly scrunched. Milo felt bad for annoying Jules who probably just wanted his peace.
"So, that didn't work", he said fiddling with his fingers nervously.
"Looks like she doesn't want to stay here", Jules replied while starring directly at the other who could feel a faint blush claiming his cheeks. "Well then I am sorry for bothering", Milo laughed awkwardly, "don't worry I will just find another place for her, or maybe I can talk with my landlord? I will find a solution-" god,he couldn't stop himself from rambling again, while unconsciously pouting more and more.
"I can take her", the annoyed pinch between Jules eyebrows had left but he looked slightly irritated as if he couldn't believe his offer himself.
"You... can?"
"Yes. I mean if my roommate is fine with it why not?", Jules shrugged. "Let me just finish cleaning up and call my roommate. So just. Wait?"
Milo nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! Great!"
