Chapter 4

Makayla's POV:
I finally found my homeroom , right when I stepped in the bell had rung , everybody looked at me me . My face turned red and I immediately found a desk and looked down at my feet. Some people looked at me and smiled others were to busy talking with their friends.

Alright class settle down , my teacher said . I looked up and saw her name plate on her desk , it said Mrs.Miller. Ok class welcome , this is your homeroom this year for your seventh grade year . Now let's start with some icebreakers. Mrs.miller was young and short , she had blonde hair and green eyes , they reminded me of Jeff's .

LATER THAT DAY:

Makayla's POV:
Lunch had finally rolled around and I still haven't seen Jeff or Matt . I felt lonely. Finally I saw Matt walking down the hallway , getting some books out of his locker. Hey have you seen Jeff anywhere ? Yeah he is in the courtyard, but he is not in a good mood today . Why I questioned ? I don't want to talk about it , I'll see you later . He walked away, and i went to look for Jeff .

JEFF POV :
I was in the courtyard by myself I kept thinking about her my mom , that passed away that now marks two years ago . As I was caught up in my thoughts , I heard footsteps behind me , I sighed didn't I tell Shannon I wanted to be alone . I turned and saw her and my heart began to beat fast and I had that funny feeling I have had been having lately. Her beautiful brown eyes were filled with worry . She asked the question , that I hoped she wouldn't. What's wrong she asked me .

Makayla's POV:

What's wrong I asked him , and tell me the truth ? Nothing he replied. No, that's not the case now tell me . It's nothing he replied again. Jeff it's okay you can tell me . He looked up at me with pain in his eyes . Jeff what's wrong i asked him with worry . Okay I'll tell you . I looked at him anxiously. Today is the anniversary of when my mom died . I looked at him in shock , i didn't even know his mom passed away, I thought she just abandoned him and his family. Jeff why didn't you tell me , I could have been there for you . I know he replied but , I'm glad I told you. How I asked , how did it happen . My mom never smoked, never drinked ,never cursed , she was a good Christian women . All of a sudden she started getting these headaches and they kept getting worse , so she finally went to the doctor and they found a brain tumor. She fought really hard through it , but it wasn't enough . Me , Matt and my dad were in the room she died in and that's all I remember . He finally broke down crying. I scooted closer to him and did nothing but hold him , as he sobbed in to my shoulder.

LATER THAT DAY :

The bell rung for the end of the day and I went to the front office to call Lily . Hey Lily you don't have to pick me up , I am walking home with Jeff , Matt and Shannon. She said okay and I said bye. I met up with the boys in the back , and we started walking . Once Shannon got to his house it was just me , Matt and Jeff . We finally got to our houses who were right across from each other. Bye I yelled see you guys tomorrow. Bye yelled Matt . Jeff waited a second. Makayla he said . Yes I replied. Thank you he said and smiled . I smiled back , your welcome . He turned around and walked back to house . I blushed and went to my door , opened it and went inside .
