New Girl

Scott and I continued to meet at the park bench under a big tree, the place we met at. We became great friends, shared secrets, played games, and just talked in general. Scott learned the basics of riding a skateboard but nothing too hard, and we spent our days together. I treasured every moment of the time with him.  One ordinary day of talking, a girl came.

"It's getting quiet," I said.

"Imma put some music on." I digged in my bag looking for my speakers. My bag made a rustling sound as I dug for my speakers. I felt the jagged side and pulled it out, pressed and hold the Power button and connected it to my phone. I scrolled through my songs and played our playlist.

The music poured out, "I just bought a Cuban ring and dipped it in the foundation, chain so heavy feel like i'm holding up a mountain. Everywhere that I go...something something, I don't know the words,"  I sang.

"Bust down Bust down Bust down Bust down Bust down bitch i'm drowning," we sang together. As we were singing, I heard the crunches of leaves braking. I looked behind me to see a girl. To be polite, I paused the song. She had sliver almost blue eyes and blonde curly hair with red ribbons holding up a pig tail, and she was wearing expensive designer clothes, red and white striped sweater with a denim jumper and sandals. Judging from what she was wearing, she looked like some spoiled rich kid from the north side. The female figure in front of me looked older than both of us.

"Hey! Can I join you guys? I heard your speakers while I was walking around" said the new chick. Her voice sent shivers down my spine, i've never felt this type of vibe. It's scary

"Oh um" Scott said as he looked at me, unsure of what to do.

I gave him a look trying to show that I had a bad vibe from her, the left tip of my lip moves up as my eyes squinted worriedly. Ignoring the vibe I shrugged my shoulders, allowing him to choose for himself. She doesn't seem bad. Maybe it was just her appearance giving me the bad vibe. I never had a good relationship with rich people anyways. I'll just ignore it for now. It's just appearance. It shouldn't matter anyways. It's up to him...

"Sure, I guess you can join." Scott said politely

"Cool! Im Chanel.  What is your names?" She asked as she sat close to Scott. Her knees were touching his. I was sitting in front of them with my board on my lap and a hand on the table and the other holding my head up.

"I'm Scott and this is my best friend, Chloe." Scott introduced me.
I waived a peace sign with my free hand, "Pleased to meet you." I said giving her a welcome smile. Appearance shouldn't matter, I repeated as my vibe intensified.

"Cool names. What were you guys listening to?"

"Drowning," Scott said.

"Hmm interesting. I haven't heard it before." Chanel said.

"Really? Have you been living under a rock?"  Scott said jokingly.

Chanel gave me a nasty look as if she thought I was a bad influence on him. "No, I don't live under a rock. I just enjoy mellow calm music better than rap." Chanel said straightening her posture.

"I have some mellow music. I can play it if you want." I said trying to make Chanel feel welcome.

"Yes, please." Chanel said.

I picked up my phone and tapped on the black and green Spotify icon moving my hand up and down scrolling though my songs. Hhmm, she seems like an interesting person, I thought to myself, but what was that nasty look for? I didn't do anything wrong.  Does she know Scott or something? I wondered.  No, he would have told me.
