Chloe's pov

Both me and Scott showed up at the same time and talked to catch up on things. Suddenly I saw someone wearing a mask. My mind immediately shifted to the family Scott told me about. Scott's face suddenly froze then twisted into a ghastly expression of fear and horror. "Ch...Ch...Chloe..." he stuttered. I could feel his trembling hand on my shoulder as he stood behind me. "Th...th..that's the mask the killer was wearing, the...the...the...night my parents were murdered..." his voice shook.
Chanel laughed a demonic laugh that made my stomach turn. "Trigger memories, Scott?" Chanel taunted as she removed the mask to reveal her horrendous face. At that moment I realized she was completely evil and her pretty face looked more like a demon's than a teenage girl.
"You're the killer! You killed Scott's parents!" I screamed. Anger filled my lungs and my voice spit like fire.
Chanel turned to me. "I'm going to kill you, Chloe." There was a matter-of-fact certainty in the tone of her voice as she calmly pulled a gun from her pocket and pointed it at me.
"Any last words?" she mocked. Her taunting voice sent shivers up my spine. She reminded me of the way a cat plays with the mouse just before it kills it. I knew that today was the last day of my life. Suddenly, Scott was standing in front of me. In seconds, I felt him grab my arms and push me to the back of him as he moved to shield me from Chanel's gun.
"She didn't do anything wrong. If you're going to kill someone, kill me. She's been nothing but good to you." Scott spoke bravely, but I could see his hands were shaking with fear as if he saw a demon.
"Let's make a deal, my love. I'll let Chloe live--but only if you agree to stay with me. If not, I will kill Chloe, and you will have the freedom to love anyone you choose." She paused for a second and then added "I'll walk out of your life forever. Do you agree to those terms?" her eyes were fixed on Scott.
"Yes...I'll take those terms." Scott said desperately. I was horrified at his decision.
"No! Scott, let her kill me." I said as I pushed him away. "Seeing you forced to love someone because of me will be as bad as death. You will have the freedom to love whoever you love. I...I love you, Scott. I been madly in love with you for a while now. For your own good, just forget me" I said. I felt my heart ache at my words. I didn't want him to forget me. I didn't want to leave him.
"No, I can't just forget you! You are my best friend! I love you too, Chloe. I'm not letting you leave me like this"
I saw a tear escape down his cheek. Warm tears streamed down my face as I wrapped my arms around his waist for the last time.
"If you hurt her, you hurt me too. If you kill her, you kill me, too. I won't let you get away without a fight. You killed my family. I won't let you kill my best friend." Scott said holding me firmly. The tear has disappeared and been replaced with anger
A sound like thunder filled the room. It was as if the thunder claps of a thousand storms exploded in the room. With the force of a sonic boom I hit the ground. My head landed with a hard thud, but it was the pain in my chest that made me cry out. I felt a hard rock pierce threw my flesh, and then the rock became like millions of stinging bees. My lungs tightened, and I began to gasp. Breathing became impossible. My head began to buzz, but in the midst of the buzz I could hear Scott calling out my name. "Chloe! Chloe! Chloe!" and then the voice faded away and everything became black.
