I woke up to a bright light. Everything was blurry. I couldn't make out anything except for the outline of 2 people. One that looked like my grandma and one I didn't know. My eyes adjusted and I realized it was my grandma.

The other person looked like a doctor. I tried to sit up but somebody pushed me back down. I heard my grandma ask something that I couldn't hear and then I heard somebody answer back yes. I figured it was the doctor.

I started looking around at where I was. I was in a hospital bed. My stomach hurt. I looked around some more. I started to close my eyes again when I heard my grandma say kinda loud that I was free to go home after they did some tests.

I tried to sit up again and they let me. The doctor told me he would be right back and that my grandma just went to the washroom. My eyesight was all clear now. I was very hungry. There was a sandwich in the corner of the room.

I slid my legs off the bed. I paused in shock. That's why my leg hurt. I had a wooden leg. I was about to start crying when the doctor walked back into the room carrying a clipboard. He told that there was only 3 simple tests.

The first test was for me to read the sentence from across the room.

The sentence was The Cow ate grass. I read it easily. The next test was putting on and taking off a bandage. He said I needed to practise this so I knew how to do it on my stomach where I got shot. I did it pretty well.

The last test was to try walking on my wooden leg. I fell right away. I tried getting back up, but I couldn't. I was starting to get angry with myself when the doctor helped me up and said that he would give me some crochets and I would be walking in no time.

"Ya right" I mumbled. My grandma was back by this time and he talked to her for couple minutes and then said loud enough so I could hear "she's all good to go home."
