She and her brother PineLeap had finished the vigil after a long rainy night. Now they had to hunt before they could eat. SandClaw was tracking a particularly fat mouse, and she and PineLeap had brought down a rabbit together earlier that morning. She was close enough that she could pounce on the mouse, and she brought it down quickly. She meet up with PineLeap and headed back to the camp. When they where close, they heard arguments and crying. They looked at each other and ran faster. They burst into camp and looked around. The first thing that SandClaw saw was a grey pelt on the ground. She dropped her prey and ran to the familiar grey Tom on the floor. He had claw marks everywhere, and deep bite marks near his throat. " Great StarClan! What happened to FeatherStep! " she cried out over the other cats. Everyone turned and saw her, expressions softening and snarls fading. TinyLeaf stepped out of the crowd. " I'm sorry, FeatherStep... He died in a battle near the border... " he meowed softly. That's when it happened. The voices in SandClaw's head spoke for the first time.

" You should have been there to help. "

" You should have gotten him back sooner. "

" This wouldn't have happened if you were there instead. "

SandClaw shook her head and headed to her father. She collapsed on the messy fur and groomed it until it was clean. Then she got up, gave out one sharp wail of pain, then stumbled backwards and collapsed again.

It was moonhigh when she woke up. She looked around and saw the thorn covered walls of the medicine den. She got up and looked around.

" Nobody is here. "

" Run while you can. "

" Get out before TinyLeaf wakes up. "

She took a look around, took a deep breath

            and ran...

A/N: Sorry for making it short. I may add SandClaw coping with her vigil, but I'm going to make the next one longer instead. If you want your OC to be in the next chapter, put it in the comments. I will pick two or three and the rest will be saved for later use. Add up to five, but not more. I want to make it fair. See you later. - Chez
