Mystery and love

The soft sunlight was creeping through your window  and was slowly waking you up. Your muscles were stiff and slightly bruised from last nights mission. It was a simple mission take down the bad guys trying to rob the bank everything was going perfectly until you got shot in the shoulder by one of the robbers. You looked down and were able to use your training to heal the wound quickly using the things around you quickly you close the wound before taking down the robbers. When you finally got home you were so exhausted you collapsed the second you hit the bed.

You looked down at your alarm clock and realised it was only just after lunch. You didn't need to go to work today so you shut your eyes and decided to have five more minutes of sleep. Ding, ding, ding "just ignore it" you said to yourself. Ding, ding, ding letting out a frustrated sigh you got out of bed and towards your phone. Looking down you noticed the messages were from your boss Nick fury. You pressed the call button and brought the phone to your face "I need you at shield now" Nick fury said calmly. "But it's my day off" "get to shield now" Nick fury was a cold calculating man but he had a soft spot for you. "You can have next week off if you get here now" "really thanks fury I really apprecia.... did you just hang up" you looked down at your phone and confirmed your suspicion.  flinging the covers off and jumping out of bed you quickly grabbed you hero outfit before jumping out the window and running to avengers H.Q.

Mysterio was talking to fury when he heard someone shout from behind him. "I'm here" you said out of breath your hands on your knees and gasping for air. You looked up and your eyes met the handsome strangers. "Glad you could finally make it" nick fury said making you break eye contact with him. "I'm sorry but I got you a smoothie, blackberry and current just how you like it" "i don't like it, but I'll take it" fury said bringing the smoothie to his lips and drinking it. "Good job y/n" he said "So why did you need me" you asked. "Y/n this is Quentin Beck other wise known as mysterio" your eyes trailed from fury to the stranger standing next to him. His hair was slicked back with pieces falling onto his face, he had a slight stubble and light blue eyes that seemed to glow. "Hey beck I'm y/n" you said extending your hand out to shake. He took it his eyes never leaving yours "it's a pleasure to meet you". You continued staring into his eyes getting lost in them. "Ahem" you turned your head around to the source of the sound and saw Spider-Man walk in. You looked away from his still feeling embarrassed over being rejected. "Fury's told me all about your skill set, we could use someone like you on my world." "Your world?" You said looking up at him trying to understand what he meant. "Beck is from Earth, just not ours. The Snap tore a hole in our dimension." Fury said  Peter cut in. "You're saying there's a multiverse?" You and Peter we're jumping up in excitement. "That's what were here to talk about. A threat has come out of Becks universe and is now wandering around in ours" "I don't understand" you said looking at beck for answers. "Their called the elementals and will stop at nothing to destroy this world" you sat down trying to process what he meant. "So will you help me" he said looking into your eyes. You nodded your head "just tell me what to do". "I'll come too" Peter said "no you stay here we need you to try and locate the next attack" beck said making shivers go up Peters spine. Something wasn't right with beck.

You were weaving through the crowds of people at the coördinates nick fury had told you, it was just perfect the next attack had to be at a festival. You looked up seeing mysterio watching you making sure nothing happened to you. But that's not why he was really watching, he was watching you because you were addictive. Your hair tumbled in waves around your face while your eyes had a curious gleam to them. You walked as if the world was your kingdom and your knee-length dress made your curves stand out. "Beck any sign of them" you said eyes glancing up at him. Gosh even your voice sounded amazing "no I don't see them yet" he said into his earpiece he saw you nodding at him before blending back into the crowd. He let out a long sigh he didn't want to do this but he knew he had to. Turning off his earpiece he pulled out his phone and dialled one of the scientist at his lab. "Start the attack" he said into the phone before hanging up.

"Where were they" you said looking around for any sign of the elementals. "Beck" you said into your earpiece "something's not right they should be here already" you heard an explosion go off besides you knocking you to the floor. Your knees stung and you could see drops of blood dripping from them. "Beck you deal with the elemental I'll get the citizens out of here" "understood" you quickly ripped your dress off revealing your super suit and started helping civilians up and getting them out of the area. When all the civilians were gone you climbed up the side of the building and used your powers to attack the elemental. "Miss me" you said winking at Beck he stopped mid-flight to look at you. Suddenly the elemental blew up into a puff of smoke and slowly started to disintegrate. "Is it dead" you said backing your way towards where the elemental once was. "For now" your face soured at this. "Thank you" said Beck "what do you mean it's my job to do this sort of thing" "yeah I know" beck said rubbing his neck "but I couldn't have done it without you. You smiled pulling him into a hug "we better get back to shield now" you said grabbing his hand and pulling him towards your car "I'll meet you there I've got something I need to do first" you looked at him sceptically "ok I guess I'll see you at Shield then, "yeah see you at shield".

"What was that" beck yelled throwing a screwdriver at a scientist. "I don't understand the simulation went perfectly" whimpered the scientist. "The illusion was sloppy the suit malfunctioned more than once and you almost hurt my partner" "but beck you said it didn't matter if a few civilians were hurt why is it different with her" another scientist piped up. Mysterio knew he was falling for you and that he wanted to call you his. He wanted to wake up in the morning with you by his side. He wanted to pull you in close when watching a movie and to be able to press kisses to your forehead when you started to get sleepy. He wanted to go on dates with you and make you smile but if you knew the truth, that he was behind this you would never trust him again. So he pushed his feelings down and lied to the scientist. "It's because if she gets hurt the other avengers will be called in and I can't deal with that" he said dragging his fingers through his hair. "Forget about it I need to get back before they get suspicious".

You were sitting on top of the shield building waiting for mysterio to come back. You heard footsteps behind you but didn't turn around to see who it was. "Why is my best agent on the roof" fury said from behind you. "I'm just waiting for mysterio" you said staring off into the sunset. "No other reason" "I don't know what you're suggesting fury but" "you feel pity for him" fury interrupted "I don't... I mean of course not, can you just imagine your whole world dying and the people you love turned to ash by the elementals" fury gave you a look saying he didn't believe a word you said. "Fine I pity him but only because I get it the snap wasn't too long ago and seeing how many people were affected when I was gone. At least those people had each other he had no one. I just think he needs someone to trust him" "ok" he said sitting down next to you. "Wait that's it you're not going to question me" you said "nope I trust you and if you trust him then I'll trust him" "thanks fury" you said "don't mention it".

Beck crept silently into his hotel room shutting the door behind him. His room had been provided by S.H.I.E.L.D and it was big it had two huge windows looking over Venice there was a soft white rug on the floor and it had two giant beds one had bright red sheets that were soft while the other was bright blue and moving. Wait moving mysterio made his way towards the bed ready to attack. Pulling off the covers he saw you there. "Y/n?" You mumbled in your sleep hair was splayed messily on the pillow and your face was peaceful. Beck smiled before putting some stray hairs behind your ear. He watched you sleeping peacefully he leant down and kissed your lips before quickly pulling away he shouldn't have done that what happened to burying his feelings. Beck decided a shower would clear his mind and grabbed a towel before heading to the bathroom.

You opened your eyes when you heard the bathroom door shut. You had woken up when you heard beck step in the room you had pretended to be asleep and you felt electricity when he kissed your lips. You brought your hand to your lips they were still tingling and you couldn't fight back a smile. You heard the shower stop and pretended to go back to sleep. You heard beck open the door and walk towards his bed but he stopped. You could feel his eyes on you. You prayed that he didn't realise you were awake. You heard his footsteps continue towards his bed you cracked your eyes open and saw beck wearing a towel the v of his stomach was showing and his chess was on fall display allowing you to see his toned muscles. You closed your eyes again a bright blush on your face.

You couldn't help but feel guilty though what about Peter. The memories of him rejecting you played in your mind and you decided that while beck wasn't Peter he would be good enough to fill the hole left in your heart.
