Hiya guise! (wow, it's weird not doing the intro my way)
Thanks for giving this story a chance! Here's chapter two!
~Felice
-----------------------------------------
Alex didn't exactly put this lightly, "I just don't see why you had to fuck with me on stage like that."
Jack's head dropped in shame, but he had already explained why he had done what he did, and in pretty great detail, why he had done so. He wasn't exactly proud of it, knowing how Alex wants every show to go smoothly, but he felt that he had no other choice. But nonetheless, he didn't think Alex was being understanding at all. The worst he could say was "I hate you. You're disgusting. Stay away from me".
"I told you why," Jack replied, almost inaudibly, "I-I like you, 'Lex."
"I heard you the first time," his so-called 'best friend' spat, "but, dammit, Jack, you knew how important that show was to me. Half of those poor kids probably won't even be alive next week. All I wanted was one perfect show because it was the least I could do for those kids, but I couldn't do that because you had to fuck it up like you do with everything!"
It wasn't until after everything was said that the singer realized what he had done. He locked his eyes with Jack's, whose had already started glazing over with hot, angry tears. And at that moment, Alex had instantly regretted what he had said. He regretted every single stupid word he allowed to escape his lips, but before he could say anything to fix it, it was too late. Jack had unlocked the door and walked out of the room - seemingly out of Alex's life, as well.
Alex was nearly in tears himself, but he held himself together and ran out of the room and down the hallway. He stopped and asked a few stagehands if they'd seen Jack. Alex only had luck with one of stagehands, and he told him that he'd seen Jack run past him and head down the east hallway. Alex knew they didn't have much more time before they had to leave and hop back on the tour bus, so Alex was practically sprinting down the hallway, checking in every room to see if he could find his younger best friend.
He stopped and asked one last person - who he wasn't really sure was supposed to be backstage in the first place - if they'd seen Jack. She replied, saying that he had gone into the last room on the right. Alex thanked the girl profusely, then ran down the rest of the hallway, stopping at the last door on the right and composing himself. He ran over everything he was going to say and do before he dared to even turn that knob to walk into the room.
"Come here to ruin my life even more?" Jack's sad voice filled Alex's ears, making the older one want to just grab Jack in his arms and say that it'd all be okay. It wasn't that easy, though. He wished it was, but sadly, after the way he yelled at Jack, it would never be that easy.
"J-Jack, can I just say something?" the older one's voice filled the room. Jack didn't say anything. Alex didn't think he could. He glanced at Jack, who nodded as he wiped the tears flowing down his cheeks, then took a deep breath. "Listen, Jack, I should not have yelled at you like I did, okay? I guess what you said just caught me off guard. I didn't know how to react. I should have thought about what I said before I just let my brain do the talking."
"Do you know how much that hurt, Alex?" the younger one's voice filled the room once more. He got up and walked over to Alex, looking him straight in the eye. "'Lex, you really hurt me. This is why I've been so afraid to tell you how I feel. You only just proved my point even more, man. You know you're the only one I talk to about everything, but after that, I don't think I can anymore. Alex, that scared me, to say the least. I've seen you mad before, but not that mad - especially at me."
