"I'm going to the pool, Doctor." Clara finally broke the silence. They had been sitting without saying a word for about an hour, just waiting for something to happen. Two days ago, the Doctor mentioned how he thought something had gotten into the Tardis. Some kind of weird alien creature,

"I guess it's a bit like a mermaid, to put it in terms you'll understand." He told Clara. Still, they doubted it was even there, seeing as it had been almost two days and nothing had happened.

"Be careful." The Doctor looked over at her, seeming concerned. Clara nodded and looked slightly embarrassed.

"It was one time!" She thought back to the previous week, where she had gotten lost and scared herself into thinking there was a monster on board. Clara pushed herself up from the chair she had been in. The Doctor smiled at her, laughing a little.

"Might we bring up the time you-" She stopped as he playfully placed a finger over her mouth.

"Just go." Clara gave him a little half smile, and started to walk away.

Clara improvised a little tune quietly as she walked. As she turned the corner, the large pool came into sight. It was uncomfortably silent even as she hummed, and Clara's ears buzzed. She pursed her lips. It was never this quiet. If anything was wrong, the Doctor would know... right? Clara tucked her hair behind her ears and walked quicker. The silence was making her a bit uneasy.

"Finally." She sighed. Her swimsuit was draped over the back of a chair, just a red bikini. It was quite revealing but it wasn't like anyone was there to see it. Ducking behind a small privacy screen (just in case) Clara changed. A minute later, she stepped into the open. It was still so quiet. Footsteps echoed in the giant room, which was the only sound. She ran and jumped into the still water. Nothing graceful, she just jumped. Clara's head broke the surface, and she opened her eyes. She smiled seeing a pair of goggles on the side of the pool. The water always bothered her eyes, plus it was more fun being able to see underwater. Clara put them on, then dove under. She just swam around with only her thoughts to keep her company. Something felt off, nothing too bad, just 'easily forgotten, back of your mind' off. The feeling nagged at Clara, and soon she started to worry.

"Maybe there is something wrong..." She murmured. The water seemed colder than it had been, and the room seemed dimmer. Clara went under again, gliding along the bottom of the pool. As she came back up for air and grabbed the side of the pool, it hit her. Seeing the glare on the water from the light made her realize, it wasn't the lights going dark, it was her vision. She coughed and noticed she had swallowed some water on accident. Almost instantly, Clara felt weak. It took all of her remaining strength to hang on and even that wasn't enough. In just a few seconds her head was fully submerged. She wasn't sure whether to put up a fight or not. The decision was made for her, considering she was too numb to move, and her vision was completely dark. She was scared. Properly, properly scared. Clara was blind, numb, about to suffocate, and oddly about to go to sleep. Her mind was fighting a losing battle to stay awake, and all she could do was drown. The lack of air eased Clara to sleep and her mind went dark.

Clara's still body lay beside the pool. The only signs of her being alive were her shallow, ragged breaths.

"Clara, I need you in the console room!" The Doctor's voice rang out in the halls of the Tardis. He sounded both excited, and nervous.

"I've found the thing on board!" No response. She had been in the swimming pool for about an hour and had said nothing. The Doctor started to worry, and thought it best to check up on her. She honestly hated it when he did stuff like that.

"I think I'm okay on my own for a bit. Thanks," She would say, and continue whatever she was doing. Clara was never this silent though.

"You're probably just being paranoid!" The Doctor told himself quietly. But, he began to get this sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, and his hearts started to beat faster. The Doctor began running to her.
