"Well... this is my bedroom. He gestured grandiosely at the circular room. It was lit exclusively by little balls of magical light and candles. There were books strewn about on the floor, on shelves. On tables, some of them he remembered reading, others not so much. There were also blueprints, for all manner of inventions, advanced crushers, improved jetpacks, even a crude idea of a rocket.
But other than the turquoise rug in the center of the room. It was dreadfully dull, but Nano bounced around in excitement anyway, entranced by the prospect of more.
"Downstairs would be... Erm... What was it?" He racked his brain, but ushered the young woman down with him, and he found himself in a empty room.
"Empty?" He racked his brain some more. He could have sworn there was something down here... like a tank... maybe a fish tank?
"Sorry Nano. I've been having lapses of memory." He started going back up the stairs until Nano made a noise that made him turn around.
She had stepped in a puddle of a toxic green substance. It was small so he didn't notice it at first. But the smell-
Suddenly his vision was green, he was choking, he was drowning! He couldn't see anything but green. He tried to escape, he had to. In his struggle he felt something come undone behind him.
Just as suddenly as it had started, it ended, he was coughing and sputtering on the ground holding his neck, he took in a gasp of air, Nano was beside him, close to tears and yelling at him to get up.
"I-I'm Alright. Really, I'm fine..." He held himself up on the banister of the stair and looked into the room, he felt sick, dizzy, and his head was pounding. This was why he never lingered here... in fact usually he flew up to his room, or teleported there... he was never down here.
"Let's continue..." He went out the door and into the courtyard where Nano fell into his fountain.
"This is where you fell, you landed in my fountain." There was a single tree, a bench and a few flower boxes, this he remembered vividly, it was one of the first things he remembered doing.
"This is pretty!" Nano put her hands in the fountain and the water flowed over her small, delicate hands.
"Yeah? I always thought it looked a little bland." He made conversation as he walked through a door that made a crackling sound, he wondered why for a moment... then shouted when he remembered.
"Don't open this door!" She had put her hand on the handle and was about to open it. She released the handle quickly and looked taken aback.
"Sorry... this door has a Tesla Coil under it. It will kill you if you open the door." She looked extremely scared and stepped back from it.
"It's okay! Here." He went to his computer and deactivated the coil with a simple command, she very gently opened the door on his command.
"I don't know why I put that there... It's just a hazard." She looked around the super computer room. Her face went from scared to amazed.
"You made all of this?! You must be the most brilliant man ever!" The compliment made his face get hot, but he shook his head.
"No, I am not, if anything Xephos is. He's... He's a good one." He remembered a man called that, he had good memories with him... but there was still anger... and he wasn't sure why.
"Who is that?" Nano asked as Lalna lifted her onto a teleporter pad.
"An old friend." He responded quickly. " Don't move, and try not to talk when you go up okay? all you have to do is look up."
She did as she was told and he heard a yell from somewhere else in the castle.
He quickly teleported in and found that she had simply fallen off the pad and landed on her face.
He laughed out loud. And she sat up, looked at him cackling, and in an instant he had fallen on his ass, she had kicked his shin.
They looked at each other for a moment. Then dissolved in a fit of laughter.
After the laugher turned to chuckling, he stood and helped her up.
"And this. Is the sorting room." He gestured towards the massive machine with so many pipes sticking out from it's hull it looked like a church organ, if a church organ had flashing lights and pipes.
Nano watched as each pipe went to a different part of the castle, to the west tower, the east tower, to a tower in the center.
"This place is so cool. It's so much more interesting than Sjin's farm..."
A light went off in the back of Lalna's head.
"Oh. You are Sjin's new apprentice?" She turned to him and cackled in way that seemed completely out of place for the small girl.
"Was. He taught me a few basic's and then met up with Sips... They rigged a building to explode while I was in it..." She seemed more angry now, unlike when it first happened.
"Well, how would you like to be mine?"
Yo! I'm back at it. Every Wednesday without fail I'll have a chapter for all you hungry readers. Lol
