Sleep Walker

Chapter 1: First Friend

A/N: Ritsu is now in present time of 14 years old.

~Ritsu's POV~

   Seiji told me to get groceries at the store. I yawned as I was tired from walking the whole way to the stop.
Ritsu: Why do I have to waste my energy walking? Especially in the morning....
   Sometimes I hate my quirk for making me tired but I have to deal with it. Though I do enjoy going outside, I never went out a lot because of Seiji's protectiveness and being homeschooled. I finally arrive at the store and got the ingredients we needed for today. As I was done getting the ingredients and paying for it, I was stopped by some hero's dealing with a huge villain.
Ritsu: So early in the morning to be attacking in the streets.
   As I watched Kamui Woods try to do a finishing attack, he was interrupted by a giant lady.
Reporter: It's the rising hero Mt. Lady!
Mt. Lady: Canyon Cannon!
   The giant villain was defeated and reporters were photographing the new hero.
Mt. Lady: Today is my debut~! Leave the rest to me!
   As she was being surrounded, I headed towards the house. I spotted someone muttering really loudly. I walked behind him and glance over his shoulder, he was too distracted to notice me.
?: She must have the quirk of gigantification!
Ritsu: Oh really?
?: Gaaahh!!!
   He jumped back in fright.
?: U-Umm, who're you?
Ritsu: Ah, I'm... *yawns* Ritsu Shimizu....and you?
Midoriya: Oh! I'm Midoriya Izuku! N-Nice to meet you!
Ritsu: *yawns* Same to you. Why are you taking notes?
Midoriya: Oh, I'm taking notes to better myself to be a hero.
Ritsu: A hero huh, what's your quirk?
Midoriya: I...don't have one....
   He looked down in sadness so I pat his head.
Ritsu: I believe you can be a hero without a quirk.
   Midoriya looked at me in shocked.
Midoriya: R-Really!? You do...
Ritsu: This world use to be a one without quirks at all, there were many heroes that was made even without quirks. If they could do it, you can too. Even in this crazy one now.
Midoriya: Thank you for your encouraging words! Um...may we be friends?
Ritsu: Sure, give me your cellphone.
   He handed his cellphone over and I put in my number.
Ritsu: *yawns* Text me anytime.
Midoriya: Why are you so sleepy Shimizu-kun?
Ritsu: Call me Ritsu Izuku, *yaaaawns* and it part of my quirk.
Midoriya: Really!
   He took out his notebook.
Midoriya: Can you tell me Ritsu?!

Ritsu: Sure, no problem. I call my quirk Sleep Walker....
   He started writing in his notebook frantically.
Midoriya: L-Let's walk to my school while you explain your quirk.
Ritsu: Alright.
   I followed Izuku and started explaining my quirk.
Ritsu: *yawns* So basically, when I activate my quirk and touch someone, they fall asleep for 30 minutes unless I cancel my quirk by snapping. Same thing with animals and machines.
Midoriya: Wow! I've never heard of this quirk before!
   He kept writing and murmuring while we walk.
Midoriya: Anything else!?
Ritsu: I want to keep my other part of my quirk a secret for now but I'll tell you it's quite unique.
Midoriya: Okay, you don't have to tell me now. Your quirk sounds cool but what if you can't touch a villain in battle?
Ritsu: I have to use hand-to-hand combat. Relying on your quirk too much is not good, if you're not able to use your quirk, you should learn how to fight without it. I'm trained using weapons and I know how to fight with my fists and feet.
Midoriya: I see, you're right. Relying on your quirk all the time is not great.
   I see a building that looks like a school.
Ritsu: It seems we are here.
Midoriya: Oh...
   I saw Midoriya's sad face so I hug him and snuggle my face on his hair.
(Ritsu will be a little taller than Midoriya)
Midoriya: A-Ahhh!! Ritsu, what are you doing!?
Ritsu: It's okay Izuku, I'll see you again.
Midoriya: Really?
Ritsu: *yawns* I'm going to go to U.A. and I know that you'll try to go too. I know that you'll become a hero, let's become one together.
Midoriya: ...
Ritsu: Izuku?
   Midoriya looked at me with a smile and he had small tears in his eyes.
Midoriya: *sniff* T-Thank you Ritsu!! I will become one, l-let's be heroes together!
   I smile at him and pat his head.
