The butterflies dance around my stomach as I walk to the car. I still can’t believe I got into NYU it was my dream to go there after year 12. My mother is driving me to the campus, today she won’t leave until she sees the dorm. When we get there all the halls are filled with girls finding their room. One girl has got bright pink hair and tattoos down her arms.
“Jade “.My mother calls me
“Yes “. I reply,
“What number is your dorm?” She asks.
”A22” I say.
As we walk down the halls looking for my dorm. Looking at the numbers on the doors A25, A24 A23 and finally A22. As I open the door to the dorm I look to the right, to see a girl with bright red hair tattoos and metal things on face. It looks like they hurt the tattoos and the metal in her face.
“Hi my name is Maya what’s yours?” She asks
“Jade nice to meet you” I respond
. My mother looks at me to ask if I am ok with this dorm. I nod to say its ok. There is a knock at the door to break the silence. Two guys walk in to the room the first one is blonde with a lip ring and no tattoos. The other one is really tall wearing black jeans and a white top, you can see though and see his tattoos and his got a lip rings and on one his eye brow. He leans on the wall and doesn’t say a thing.
“Hi my name is rivers”. The blonde says
“Mine is jade and you have such a weird name sorry to say but its true”. I say.
The blonde laughs and the dark head boy smiles at my comment. My mum kisses me goodbye and tell me to stay away from them. I smile and nod in agreement. As the door closed Maya says she’s going out for tea and I want to come. I shake my head and tell her I’m going to unpack my bags. She nods at me and says she will be back late. As all three of them walk out the door I unzip my bags and take my neat folded clothing out and my favourite book called Pride and Prejudice. I sit it on the bookshelf and put my clothes away in the dresser. Sitting on the bed alone in the dorm making me feel a little bit lonely. I decided to go look for the coffee shop that I saw on the way in if I can only remember the street name. Walking down the streets past the class room on the corner of little street is a small coffee shop called little café.
“Ironic”. I say out loud not meaning it.
“Yes very much” A guy says
“Hi I didn’t mean to say that out loud” I say
“It’s ok my name is ash”. Said ash
“Mine is jade” I tell ash.
“It’s nice to meet you”. I smile at him
“They have really good coffee just say”.
He looks down at me and smiles. I nod at him as we walk in to the coffee shop. We sit down at the end of the shop near the door after getting a coffee.
“WOW your right they do have great coffee” I smile and take another sip of me coffee he smiles and nods at me.
The rest of the afternoon went really fast. When I get back from the coffee shop no one is in the dorm. So I decided to go take a shower I grabbed my clothes and that and head for the shower. I hate the fact the dorms don’t have their own shower and we have to share it’s so wrong. The shower room has four showers on each side of the room I walk to the end shower that only one free, the shower isn’t that big it’s got a hook for a towel and a bench for my clothes I sit them down and turn on the shower. When I turn off the shower I relies that I have got my clothes wet from the shower. I put my bra and panties on and I wrapped the towel around my body and walk quickly to my room. To find the dark head boy I meet earlier go into my room. I open the door as he sits on the bed I walk to my bed.
