My mate is my savior

Chapter 4

So, I have come today like I said I would try to do. :3

(Austin's POV)

I watched her run off. "She was lying. That bruise didn't come from clumsiness," Max growled. I nodded mentally in agreement.

"At least we will be able to see her at 7:00-"

My wolf interrupted, "If she can."

I sat down. "I am going to wait for MY mate."

(Sky's POV)

I trembled in fear. "I-I wasn't paying attention to the t-time..." I stammered out, looking at the Alpha's feet. I could feel his cold stare burn through my skin and into my soul.

"You know what happens if you are late," he growled. I swallowed in fear and slowly stepped back.

He grabbed my hair and yanked it back, making me look him in the face. "You DO know the consequences, am I correct?" I nodded hastily as tears stuck my eyes. "Well?!?" he yelled at me.

"Y-yes, Alpha. I do."

He started to pull me away from the door, and as he dragged me through the hall way, my father stood there in the kitchen doorway.

He has allowed this man hurt me over and over. I looked away from him, regretting that I have ever lived, let alone in his family.

The next thing I know, I fall to the ground from a sudden release of my hair. "Run Skylar and get the hell out of here!" I looked at my dad in shock, he was fighting the Alpha for my freedom. "Don't just stand there! GO!!!" My dad threw a punch into the Alpha's nose. And that was all that I saw before I ran out of there and headed to where I met my mate.

Not too long after, I heard pounding of feet. "Get back here bitch!"

I gasped. My father-he lost. Tears poured down my face. I was almost to the border I could see it, and surprisingly, Austin was still there.

"AUSTIN!!!!!!" I stumbled quite a bit as I ran to him. He stood up and ran to the border, only a few feet away now, just out of reach. I took one more step and he grabbed my hand and yanked me into him. I cried into his chest. "I'm sorry. I'm so so so so sorry. I shouldn't have lied to you."

He rubbed my back, held me closely and kissed my head. "Care to explain, Love?" he whispered softly.

"He hurt me," I cried out.

"Who did?" His voice was still gentle, but I knew that he was angry because his grip on me tightened just a bit. I started to sob again. "Shh, it's ok."

He sat us down so I was on his lap, my face still on his bare chest, and ran his fingers through my hair, rubbing circles into my lower back in the process. "No one is going to hurt you anymore. I promise it."

Soon enough, which seemed like centuries, I was no longer sobbing but sniffing, snuggling into Austin. "Are you alright now, Love?"

"I...think so." I mumbled into his chest.

He pulled me back so he could look me in the face, "Who hurt you, Sky?"

I swallowed then whispered, "My Alpha."

(Austin's POV)

I felt Max try to come out to find the son of a bitch that hurt our fragile, little mate, but I fought him. A growl slipped out of my mouth, which made my mate flinch.

"I'm sorry, Love, but he shouldn't have hurt you." I stood up, "Come on. Let's go to my pack, and the doctor can look at your bruises to make sure you are ok."

She shook her head, making her silky, black hair go back and forth. "I can handle them. I have felt worse. Just need to have some rest." I eyed her suspiciously but nodded.

I shifted into my wolf and waited for Sky to do the same. When she just stood there, I tilted my head.

"I don't have any clothes, and I don't want to shift in front of others," she explained. I mentally smiled, glad to know that she only wanted me to see her. I nodded then bent down for her to climb onto my back.

Once she was safely on, I took off and got back at the pack house within 15 minutes. She climbed off of me right before the clearing of the house, and I shifted into my human form and grabbed a bag of clothes that I had behind a tree and slipped on a pair of black basketball shorts and a white muscle shirt. "Welcome to your new home, Skylar."
