it had been two or three days since i had run into jacob at monni's, i was hoping he'd text but he hasn't.
i was also hoping i'd run into him somewhere considering how small this town is but nothing. not one sign of him.

Jacobs Pov

i couldn't stop thinking about what happened at monnis. this girl, it felt like she knew me, like i knew her. she felt so close yet so far. i felt like i could be myself around her and i loved that feeling but i just can't seem to get myself to call or even text her because what if she forgot about me.

you know what. fuck it. i'm not aboutta be bored all summer long.

i pull out my phone from my pocket and go into contacts, i use the search bar and search in "sophia", i push the text icon and type in "hey"

a couple seconds later, i get a notification from "sophia ⚡️"

thank god.
you know what i hate? when girls take 16 years to send something cause they don't want to seem clingy like, hell, i love that shit.

i smile at my phone and send

i see the 3 bubbles appear so i get out of the chat so she wouldn't think i was typing

i turn my phone off and grab my shoes, i was wearing a white t-shirt and khaki shorts, the basics.

since my grandparents weren't home at the time i just wrote a note saying "going out to hang out with a friend, call me if anything"

i lock the front door and start to make my way to monnis.

the most i've ever been excited to go to a grocery store.
