14. JUDGING CRITERIA

Attention, judges! The judging period is nearing and finally, we will be able to post the judging criteria.

i. TITLE + 5 Points
─ how creative is the title? is it attention catching?

ii. DESCRIPTION + 5 Points
─ is the description eye-catching? does it make you want to read the book?

iii. FIRST + 2 Points
─ is the first chapter already interesting? does it not bore you and actually makes you anticipate the next chapter?

iv. GRAMMAR + 10 Points
─ is grammar correct? is the book free of spelling errors and wrongly placed punctuation marks?

v. FLOW + 10 points
─ is the book a page-turner? is the flow of the story smooth? or is it boring and not interesting to continue reading anymore?

vi. DICTION + 8 Points
─ how well was the story delivered? is the author's writing style worth eight points? (note: do not base on deep and fancy words that the authors use, focus on how a paragraph was delivered)

vii. ORIGINALITY + 10 Points
─ how original was the plot? was it cliché? were there plot twists?

viii. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT + 10 Points
─ this is quite self-explanatory, just ask yourself the questions: did the character's attitude/personality grow throughout the story? did something change about him/her? or did he/she remain the same way until the end?

ix. EMOTIONS + 5 Points
─ did the story make you feel something? when a fluff scene come up, did you feel butterflies in your stomach? when a scary/thrilling scene came up, did you feel your heart beat in nervousness? did you feel emotions during the time you're reading the book?

x. OVERALL + 5 Points
─ was the whole book interesting/fun to read? do you reccomend for others to read the story?
