Narrator's POV

"Ms. Cabello. You were Mr. Romero's girlfriend. How long have you two dated?" Camila's attorney asked her.

The girl hesitatingly looked up from her lap. She was beyond nervous and scared right now, and everyone's gaze on her was just making it worse. "Almost 7 months."

"How was your bond with each other?"

"He can be a handful sometimes, but I knew that he cared about me and I love him." That didn't even answer the question and except for the first statement, the other two were both lies. At first, yeah, Camila did have some feelings for him and he was such a sweetheart too back then, but that changed rather quickly.

He started being possessively aggressive with her and when he couldn't get her attention, he'd lash out on her. Actually, no, he didn't even need a reason to go mad at her most of the time.

The funny thing about their relationship was, Daniel hasn't even liked her in the first place. He only pursued her because she was the girl all his friends were talking about. And after he caught her, he just played with her for a while before getting bored eventually, though, at the same time, he doesn't want anyone else to have her either.

There have been days where she didn't dare to leave her dorm without putting pounds of makeup on herself to cover her bruises and wearing clothes that are way too hot for the weather. And then there are also the nights where she was literally too scared to fall asleep and would cry herself the whole night away instead.

Of course, she's tried to break up with him, but... after that one try, she's learned to not talk about ending their relationship again in the hard way.

Camila pulled herself out of her train of thoughts when she heard her name being called.

"--Ms. Cabello... Camila."

"Yes?"

"I was asking you what happened that night after Ms. Y/L/N left."

The brunette looked over the said girl and saw Y/N looking anxiously at her as if she's scared to hear what might come off out of her mouth. "After she left, Daniel and I stayed for about a half hour with his friends before he was ready to leave... Yeah, just that."

"How did you two end up in that alley behind the bar then?"

Camila bit down on her bottom lip as her heart started beating faster while she answered the question. "He was... he..." She tried to blink the tears that were forming away, and let her eyes frantically roam around in the courtroom. They landed on Y/N's concerned ones and somehow... that kinda calmed her down. "He told me that he... he wanted me really bad and pulled me into that alley with him and tried to... he tried to throw himself at me." Those weren't his exact words, but they kinda come down to the same thing.

"What do you mean with 'tried to'? Did you stop him... he stopped himself or what happened?"

"No," her voice trembled out. "Y/N... she came out of nowhere and knocked something to his head before pushing him away from me."

"So you're sayin--"

"Why are you lying? What do you mean with knocked him to the head? I haven't done anything," Y/N interrupted as she stood up from her defendant box.

"Silence, please."

"Your honor, please believe me. She's just making this story up. I really haven't touched him."

"Defendant Y/L/N, please." The judge gave Y/N a pointed look that basically said 'if you don't shut up and sit back down now, you're gonna be in a little bit more trouble than you are now'. The younger girl got the message and plopped down on the seat again. "You can continue, defender."
