"I don't know what to say to him. If you come up with something, have at it..."

============

I left Liam to sleep, and put a thin violet blanket over him. I saw a thin smile appear on his lips, and pulled away.

"You little bastard," I said. He sat up and smiled at me. Maybe I should call him toxic smile. When I smiled back, he asked, "Do you have a blanket? The desert gets pretty cold at night."

I nodded and leaned my chair back like his. He laid back and grabbed his book. "Do you like it? I've read it about a thousand times," I laughed. "I love it. So far anyways."

I laid back and grabbed my extra blanket. "I have a pillow if you want to use it," I offered. "That's fine. I don't need it."

"Well, it's in the back if you change your mind."

He opened his book to read. Then I realized I had parked next to a streetlight. Although, it really was only on his side, and wouldn't bother me. It was dim and not enough too bother him when he wanted to sleep.

He looked at me and I smiled. "You're good company."

"Thanks, so are you," he answered. "I'm glad you actually wanted to do this. Otherwise I'd be alone on this trip."

"Yeah, it was debatable at first. Obviously. I mean, I did barely know you at the time." I nodded, but by now, I was more focused on his eyes than what he was saying.

His eyes were a beautiful blue, the color of an ocean. I could get lost in his eyes to be honest. "Ari?" I jumped up. "Sorry, I was, um, deep in thought."

"That's fine. You should go to sleep, you seem tired."

"I'm alright. What were you saying?"

"Oh, just rambling, nevermind."

"Okay." I curled up in the blankets as he read. I watched, trying my best not to seem like a stalker. Probably only making it worse. I mentally sighed and closed my eyes.

Soon I did fall asleep. Thank God for no crazy dreams overnight, even if it was very uncomfortable. When I woke up, I felt blinded by the light. It stung, lifting my eyelids. Immediately I saw the sun directly at the window, like it had aimed to hit me.

I sat up, looking away from the sun. "Bright, huh?" I jumped, startled. Liam chuckled. He was reading The Fault In Our Stars still. He was almost done with the book too.

"Dammit, Liam! You scared me!" I gasped, starting to laugh. "Just doin my job." He chuckled with his smile spreading as he put his book down.

"How long have you been up?"

"About 30 minutes. It's almost 8 now."

I nodded. "Should we drive?" He thought for a moment. "I guess. Hey, where are we goin anyway?"

I hadn't really thought about where I was going, so I didn't have an answer. "I...don't know. Is there anywhere you want to go?"

"Hm," he hummed. "Georgia? We're down south anyways."

"You think we can make it?"

"Oh yeah. We're already almost in Texas."

I nodded. "Why not? Georgia sounds nice." But what then? Do we part? Could we get an apartment together? What if we fight?

"I can drive Ari. We can get Google Maps going, and you can take a break." It was a nice offer, but I denied him. "Ari, take it easy."

I shook my head. "I'll be fine. Thank you though." He sighed and sat back. "Alright."
