Selection Day

Two days later ...

Once again the cages became clean. I didn't realize how many cuts were on me until I got splashed with freezing cold hose water. My skin was red and pale.

"If you mess up your gonna have to fess up, I'm not gonna have anyone die in front of the Nobles today. You hear me!" He shouted from behind the counter. 

Nobles! They were like the kings and queens of our town. Which that means that they get the most blood and will probably want a beautiful youth to suck the life out of.

My keepers always told me that I was ugly and that's why nobody wanted me.

Tears came to my eyes until the keeper came to my cage and opened it.

He made us stand in a line one next to the other. Cold hands touched my shoulder. It was her. Two days ago she whispered something to me but I never heard. She looked at me with a happy face.

I knew she was saying to herself that anyplace is better than here.

A slender woman walked in and went straight to the girl next to me and pulled her arms.
By her reaction her hands must have been even colder than her own.

Vampires walked in and out as the time went by.
It felt like only a few minutes but it was in fact 4 hours.

I knew what was going to happen at 5:00 a clock when the store closed the doors.
We would be transfered to California.

After that, if no one bought me I would be drained of my blood and so on.

"Your lucky sir, there's only 2 of them left. Take your time and let me know who you have picked and I'll tell you the price"
I over head the keeper.
I mainly heard everything he said because of his loud mouth.
But when I ask the people I know when we go outside for exercise they say they never hear him when he talks to his customers.

I looked up from my pale feet and saw that that the vampire that had came in was a tall, muscular man with light brown hair and greenish-brown eyes.

A\N this is another short chapter but that's because I don't have much inspiration for the longer paragraphs.
