Serpiano's P.O.V.

- ...way out? I finished my question still fixing the spot where she was a second ago.

I was left alone in the middle of the garden that slowly began to decompose with her disappearance. I touched the golden leaf on one of the trees which was my way out and proof of my accomplishment of the task. I was taken back to my village.

It is an underground set of houses which all had a window to the surface over the living room. At this time, when its night, these windows are all lit and I feel like im walking on a huge disco ball flattened on the ground. I tapped on the window of my house 2 times, as usual, and my wife opened the small door, that only each family knew about,  and entered the house.

- What took you so long? my wife Sandra asked me.

- Something very curious happened. The girl I told you about, the oxer, she did something that I haven't seen anyone do before. I said thoughtfully leaving my cape at the entrance and making my way to the small study to write my report.

- What did she do? she asked following me with a pinch of curiosity aroused and closing the door after her.

- I was sent to create a garden, and I was sent the fruit options: the loodlet, the bevad and the worlic. Reesa has told me beforehand that this is supposed to be the first choice, based on her record. So we walked through the garden for about 4 hours. She didn't choose any of them and then, she ate something, something that I didnt create. That thing just appeared and a second later she was gone. I said sitting at my desk across from my wife who seemed to be rather annoyed.

- How much will you volunteer to help these oxers! I told you to go to Reesa and tell her you have done your part! she snapped.

- Sandra, its enough. I told you already that this is a good way to get well with Him. I repeated myself for the thousandth time, as my wife doesnt seem to understand.

- Darling, they will blame you for it. You lost her. You dont know where she is... what will the kids do without you? there was a pause, after which she continued.

- You wanted a family. You wanted peace and quiet. You chose to be here in AED 2, with me. Why are you so determined to keep working for Him?

I sighed and rested my head in my palms.

- I assure you this is the last time. I will write my report and settle down. I promise. she nodded squeezing my shoulder softly before leaving the study and heading to the kitchen.

She was right. I chose to go no further than AED 2, even if I could have. I wonder if I did the right thing, if my destiny lays between these walls and this family. What would have happened if I had finished my journey? Did someone ever even see whats at the end? I suppose I will never know.

I start writing my report including all the details of me and Ariana's conversation and about her very sudden disappearance.

After I finished it, I wrapped it in an official anvelope with the resigning paper, probably the last one I'd be sending for a long time, and sent it to Reesa, with a silver stamp.

It was time for me to get some rest. I decided to sleep in my study, on the floor, like all of my kind do.

Reesa's P.O.V.

Another report was left on my table from Serpiano. Always on time ,this one. It was Ariana's report and what I read was mildly said ,shocking. Can it be...?

I couldn't be sure but I have a theory about this girl. She is not as usual as we thought she would be. She truly does have something special. No one ever escaped from a mirage with a thing that wasnt created in the first place. I wonder how she did it, but even more I wonder what will He say about this.

I was so surprised by the news that I barely noticed the resigning paper that seemed glued to the anvelope, as trying not to stand out. I took it and tore it to pieces. Serpiano sure has the nerve to try to resign after what He did for him and his kind.

These serpents were oxers once. Now only the few of the first existent serpents know this. But they were oxers that weren't worthy of a beautiful after life, but at the same time, they werent as harmful to be put to great torture.

He was kind enough to make for people like Serpiano, who in life were small thieves or bad tempered people, a special place where they could choose to be alone, or have a family. Those creatures are forever in debt to Him, so if He sees Serpiano's disgraceful act, it will not end well.

I had so much work to do, that it made me jump in happiness. I wrote a letter to Serpiano, which stated that he should remind Sandra of what He did for their kind and think better before resigning the next time.

The more difficult, but rather interesting issue was what was I going to tell Him about the girl. I looked on my screen, which was set on the whole table and saw that she was exactly where she was supposed to be, ready to face the second choice. Watching over her progress will be very engaging, as I can never even imagine what will this little oxer do next.

I preceded to writing my own report. The report that would reach Him in an official anvelope. I have never had the chance to find a serious enough reason to write to Him, but this girl gave it to me.

With the anvelope sent and the screen-table in front of me, I continued with my routine: Check who's dead, arrange a meeting, send them to play the game.
