Betrayal

Jasper growled at the small boy standing there holding his father's gem, he picked up lapis and started to walk off. Malachi held his stomach in pain but stardust had some sympathy for Asher, she tried to comfort him since he was younger than her and didn't understand why his parents were going through this conflict. Jasper didn't agree with taking the kid in but, he saw him crying and remembered how malachite and stardust cried when lapis was taken away. He let him stay by lapis's side as she recovered, Malachite sat away from his mother but he kept her in his sight as he sharpened his sword and kept it clean. His sister tending to her bows condition since she was still learning how to maintain it, she noticed Asher's curiosity and let him get closer. "What's that ..?" He sniffled still holding his father's gem and keeping a safe distance from stardust and her brother.

"Tch like you would know, you and all the other spoiled brats get to live a carefree life back on homeworld without a spec of dirt on your uniforms !" Malachite spat out, he toughened up over the past three years and he lost his kind and outgoing nature, this saddened his sister greatly since she missed having a brother. Not a warrior or a bodyguard, loud footsteps entered the room as Jasper walked in. He grunted and caused Asher to cower into a corner, he shook in fear,

"Hmph." He scoffed at the gemling, he then placed a cold wet towel on lapis's forehead. He cared about her still but he was severely heartbroken, he placed the towel down and he longed to hold his past lover in his arms and just enjoy the nice walks by the lake with their kids. He choked up and groaned, he slapped himself and tried to snap out of it, he stormed out the cabin to sit outside when the slamming of the door woke up lapis.

"W-where's Asher !" She gasped and her son jumped into her arms, she held him close and kissed his forehead. This caused stardust to look down at her weapon and feel tears well up. Malachite refused to cry but he was hurting, he got up and put his sword in his sheath.

"Let's go stardust..." he said bitterly as if to hint that he didn't like the interaction between Asher and lapis.

Stardust obeyed her older brother and a few tears were shed, they fell on the ground and lapis noticed."m-my babies please ...come here ."

Malachite turned back around," sorry miss. We were told not to talk to people we don't know." He said coldly and led his sister out, walking past his father and making his way into the woods.

"Mommy ...why are you crying .." he said whining as he desperately tried to wipe the tears off her face. Her heart was torn in two, she loved both her families but now her two twins didn't even think of her as their mother. Her head spun and she was sobbing, Jasper walked back in with a harsh glare.

"Did you make them cry! Lapis you need to leave now, I don't care if you gave birth to these children. I'm their parent and you coming back isn't going to make them love you again, you chose that bastard over me. Go back to your stupid ship and hope that I'll have mercy next time I fight him." He threatened, his teeth were bared and his eyes glowed in the slight darkness of the cabin.

"L-leave my mommy alone !" Asher yelled trying to stick up for his mom, he was terrified but he didn't like seeing his mother upset."s-she doesn't listen to you anymore !"

Malachite limped as he walked with his sister leaning against a tree, he was resting.

"Don't you think it was a little harsh to say those things to our mom...she was trying to protect us. It's not her fault that she was taken, and she had another baby.." she said, truly believing that lapis still loved them and wanted to be a mother to them again.

"No I don't, dad gave her a choice to pick. Him or the other guy and she made her choice, we don't know her. She's not the mom we used to know, and we aren't the same crybaby little kids that bawled every night because they didn't have a mom to share their thoughts with or a mom to tuck them in and kiss them, she could have come back sooner but she didn't !" He cried out, tears spilling even though he tried to act tough. He missed his mother and knowing that they lost her because he decided to run away and get himself caught by homeworld gems.

"M-Malachite...I'm sure she tried to come back, she wouldn't have just forgotten us just because she had another baby ..." she said wiping her brother's tears and hugging him.

Lapis was crying still, "I saw my babies but that's not enough. I'm their mother, I deserve to spend time with them just as much as you do! I left for their safety and I've kept you safe so far, but war is getting worse and I'm here to save them from it ."

"And take them from me! Of course, I am not going to let that happen, those are my kids and they stay with the one who raised them." Jasper said getting angry at lapis.

Lapis got up with Asher in her arms, "I'm going out to find them, I suggest you leave them to me. I'll give them a better life."

"Yeah a better life with that bastard who brought so much pain to our family! The same man who attacked me for you, and the same Man who just harmed our son!"

Asher cried into his mother's shirt, "mommy! I wanna go homeee!" He cried and held his father's gem even closer to his chest.

The gem started to glow a bit meaning obsidian would reform soon, and that meant that lapis was a danger to his kids now."leave. Now ."

Lapis looked at Jasper with sad eyes, she kissed him and she frowned ."I'm sorry Jasper...I tried to come back, I got sidetracked. It's not my fault."

Asher remained silent, he hid his face in his mother's chest," can we go mommy..."

Malachite and stardust were returning from their walk, Malachite scowled at lapis and walked past her without a word. Stardust stopped and she looked at her, "I hope you're happy with your new family..." she said lying again because she missed being a family and not having to fight a war.

"H-honey that's not it, please ...I love you both so much and I came back because I wanted to take you back to my home where you'll be safe from this way." She backed away hugging her close, Jasper broke them up.

"yeah no that's not happening, lapis you are not taking my kids that shitty place you call home." He glared and watched as obsidian reformed, he quickly put his kids behind him and pulled out his weapon.

Obsidian lunged at Jasper, he attacked him and his stare was menacing." you tried to hurt my kid! You'll pay for this !" He said summoning his iron wings, causing lapis to step between them.

"Both of you knock it off !" She hissed at them both and held Asher close.

Malachi has his sword pointed at obsidians gem and so did stardust," it's over, Give me my mom back."
