New Discoveries... Part 11

After finding out the body of mark is missing Abe and Elizabeth find out more secrets about mark...and everyone else?Will what they find ruined the bond of friends?Or will the sanity of everyone fall apart...

Elizabeth(y/n): I looked in and saw the mess in the room,it looked like mark was attacked "hey detective I think this is where it happened" I said.

 "Looks rough,but I don't think he was killed here. Take a look around,see if you find anything" he said I took one step forward.

 "But be CAREFUL, I've lost three partners before to bedroom booby trap" his words made me jump.

 I walked over some pillows and trash around me and stumbled upon a small table with two chairs near it. "Hey there seems to b-" I said before being cut off "And make sure you don't tamper with any evidence!" Abe replied.

 I looked at the table and saw four pictures, One with Mark,Damien, and William I remember this day. Then I saw the old gang it was with Celine, this day was mark and Celine's wedding day I took the picture. The third one had Mark and Damien ,Mark wanted to celebrate the day Damien became mayor. I saw a picture far from the others, I picked it up the glass cover was broken...it was the Colonel's.

" Let me know if you find anything" Abe said I showed him the picture "You find a clue?" he asked I nodded.

 I looked at the picture one more time and the Colonel appeared causing me to fall on the floor."Your'e quite on the case,aren't you?" asked Colonel,I nodded in response He held out a hand to help me up.

 "Say Detective?May I borrow Elizabeth here?" he asked,"Yeah sure,don't worry partner I'll handle it from here".

 I trusted the Colonel so I agreed "Bully,take a walk with me I thought that is was about time we got to...CATCH up. Someplace far,far away from the prying eyes of,uh...anyone else,come with me" he said and I followed.

 "Wow so eager to catch up are we Colonel" I said "Hahaha you were always funny Elizabeth".

He leaded me to the door of the patio" Now correct me if I'm wrong,but you and the mayor are still in touch with each other,right?He's a good man,that one. We've been fast friends for as long as I can remember" he said we started going to the pool area.

 "I know that's why he is our mayor now" I said "Now there came a time when I could have said the same thing about mark but...Well,best not to speak ill of the dead" he said.

 I nodded "Oh!the pool hasn't aged a day!" I glanced at it and when I look back at the colonel he was in a bathing suit.

 "GERONIMO!" and off he went into the pool "Hey be careful you almost splashed me".

 I heard foot steps and it belonged to Damien "Have you seen the colonel?" I said no,I don't know why. 

"I thought I heard him,I need to speak with him. I may have been a little short at our last encounter.Well if you do see him let me know" I nodded in agreement.

 Right when Damien left the colonel popped out of the water "BULLY!" I turned back to Damien and when I look back at the colonel he was fully dressed again.

 "Oh,life needs a bit of madness eh chap?Now,what were we talking about?" He asked "I think about our dear friend Mark" I responded.

 "Oh yes!The grisly business inside.Well I'm not the first to say that our host had a great deal of enemies as of late. My prying eye suspects that the people who worked for him might have a reason to stab him in the back. God knows he's a tough son of a bitch to work for".

 That's true but I don't think mark would have any enemies not that I know of, and why would the colonel say that about mark. We strolled over to the golf area and the colonel's eyes lighted up seeing it. "Oh,the old golf course!I-I'll fetch my clubs" he said "You do that, I'll join you later,and beat you!" I said.

I always loved spending time with William, when he's around I feel warm inside. I never want to leave his side, I want to keep him around but I want him to be happy too. Even if it means him being happy without me...

 I turned around and Damien was there "Colonel?Damn,I thought I heard him.No matter,would you accompany me Elizabeth?There's something that would...very much like to discuss with you" he asked "Of course Damien,what is it?". 

"Now, I know you've been assisting our intrepid detective with this investigation,but I have to bring some concerns of mine to the forefront. If we look at the situation logically,we can only assume that the killer who struck down our dear friend Mark was with us last night".

 He was right "And while I would stake my life on the innocence of the Colonel or yourself, can we really say the same of our beloved detective" he said.

 "Damien you could be right but we have no prove who even did it" I said. "Or worse yet, mayhaps our counting skills aren't as good as we assume them to be. And mayhaps in the shadows of this manor,unseen to any of us lay hidden...a murderer(Lightning and Gun shots)". 

We both jerked our heads towards the manor and ran inside, I heard some arguing. I saw the Colonel and Abe pointing guns at each other "I don't what your playing at but you better lower your weapon,you murderer(lighting)" said Abe. 

"I bloody well won't,you're the one that assaulted me!For all I know,you could be the murderer(Lighting)" the Colonel responded.

 "I don't think any of you are the murderer(lighting) just put down the guns!" I said "STAY OUT OF THIS ELIZABETH!" they both yelled at me in unison. 

I felt my heart break and some tears go down my face. The Chef came in "What the fu-Ooh!" and he ran out of the way "Last chance,drop your weapon!" Abe yelled.

 I turned to Benjamin "Master's prized vase..." he yelped" Everyone please!I know we're all on edge,but can't we solve this amicably?" Damien said.

 "I agree with Damien stop fighting" I said," On edge?!This PSYCHO tried to SHOOT ME!" Abe said. I glanced at Colonel with disbelief and he looked me in the eye.

 "That's a bold-faced lie!I was merely doing some light target practice!" he stated "Inside?!" yelled Benjamin waving a broom in the Colonel's face.

 "Well yes,I couldn't go on the grounds now with that bloody chef in my way,could I?" said the Colonel"You're damn right! You should've remembered that, private. Besides,you're not my boss anymore!" said the Chef.

 "It's "Colonel" now" he said "Enough of this horse shit!You knew I was onto you and your were trying to whack me off before I could finger you!...As the Murderer(Lighting)!" said Abe.

 " Detective he's not the murderer(Lighting) trust me" I pleaded "I will not be called a murderer in my own home!" yelled the Colonel.

 The door swung open "STOP!" yelled someone who appeared in the door.
