Natsu's pov

I walk into the guild and i look around and my eyes widen, i see gray comforting (y/n) as she cries. Erza walks over to me and grabs me "are you ok natsu?" She asks as her voice cracks "(y/n) has been so worried about you, everyone has. She hasn't been sleeping, eating, she's refused to let anyone touch your scarf and she's been clutching the book of E.N.D as if it were the only thing keeping her alive" she says "i couldn't let you guys stay, you would've gotten hurt" i say and she nods, she brings me into a hug and i hug her back "ive missed you" she says "ive missed you too erza" i say as she pulls away. I look back over to (y/n) and i see her hugging happy as he cries. I walk over to them silently and i hear them talking "i miss him" happy cries "i know you do, i do too bud" she cries back "he'll come back for us, he promised he'd never leave us" she cries and she wraps my scarf around them both "you won't leave me, will you (y/n)?" Happy sobs "of course not, i love you little guy" she cries "i love you too" he sobs.

I sit next to them and i put my hands on their heads, they both look up at me and their eyes widen "Natsu" (y/n) whispers "im back" i say "NATSU!" happy yells as they both jump into my arms. I wrap my arms around them tightly as they both sob into me "please don't ever scare me like that again" (y/n) whimpers "im sorry (n/n)" i say softly "are you hurt?" she sniffs as she puts her hands on my face "im completely fine" i say and she nods "ive missed you so much" she says as i wipe her tears away with my thumb "is E.N.D gone?" She asks and i sigh "no, he's sealed in the book of E.N.D again" i say and i see her hugging it "i wont let it happen again" she whispers. I sit down and mira brings us all a drink, she puts her hand on top mine and i look at her "welcome home Natsu" she says and i smile "this has been the worst year of my life" (y/n) says "being without my best friend hurt like hell" she says as she grabs my hand "i hated it too, all i wanted was to come home and see you but i knew i was too dangerous" i say "i refuse to ever hurt you" i add "please dont leave me like that again" she says "i won't, i promise" i say as i hug her close to me "do you have anywhere to stay? Happy's been living with me" she asks and i shake my head no "you can move in with me" she says and i smile

"can i see the book of E.N.D?" I ask and i see her grip tighten on it and she opens it "i would write in it when i missed you and you would write back" she says as she points to some messages and i kiss her head "I'm so sorry (y/n)" i say as i look at the scar going across her right eye "Its ok, you weren't in control, as soon as you realized who i was, you got me out of there" she says as she leans into me "a dragon never forgets his mate" i say and she nods "its been hell without you here, even gajeel missed you" she says "the guild just hasn't been the same" she adds "how so?" I ask "its less lively, gray just sat there with no one to start an argument with, erza has been crying pretty much all year, even gramps has changed" she says "happy hasnt been eating properly, although i cant say much because neither have i" she says and i look down at the sleeping happy in my lap "even sting and rouge from sabertooth havent been the same since you left us" she says as she looks down

"I'm not gonna leave you ever again, i promise im going to get stronger and im going to protect you" i say and she looks up at me with tears in her eyes "i know you will" she says as her voice breaks "I'll get stronger with you" she whimpers as tears drip down her cherry pink cheeks "c'mon (n/n), dont cry" i say as i wipe her tears away "im sorry, i just cant believe you're back" she sniffs as she wipes her eyes "I'm back and I'm not leaving ever again" i say and she nods "i tried breaking the enchantment to get you back and i almost did it, but i just wasnt strong enough" she says "i used all my light magic up" she whispers and my eyes widen "but you're a descendant of master Mavis" i say and she nods "i used it all up to try and brake the spell" she says "ive lost all my light magic" she says "all i have now is the black magic from being struck
By zeref and my elemental dragon slaying magic" she says "why did you do that? You need that magic to balance the black magic" i say "i needed you back" she says

"and she was willing to do anything to get you back" the voice of gramps comes from behind us, we turn around and i see (y/n) put her head down "she sacrificed her light magic to try and get you back, and now the darkness of zerefs magic is slowly consuming her body" he says and my eyes fill with tears "what does that mean gramps? What's going to happen to her?" I say as my voice shakes "it means in 7 years time, she'll become a demon from the book of zeref" he says "she will have all her memories due to her elemental dragon slaying magic so the transformation will not be fully complete. She will stay human but if she lets the darkness take control of her mind, she will shift into her demon form" he says and i shake my head "there's got to be a way we can control it" i say "there is" (y/n) says "but only you can control it natsu, only you can save me" she says "i will, ill save you" i say

I kiss her forehead multiple times and i make her look at me "i wont let this happen to you" i say and she nods "you're my mate for life, no matter what form I'm in" she says "you liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike each other" happy taunts trying to lighten the mood and she giggles "yeah, we do" i say as i look down at her
