Ch. One

Chapter One:
The Engagement

Katya Antoni

"I can't believe you!!!" I shouted at my father, slamming my hands angrily on his beautiful black wooden desk.

"Well you better believe it, you are getting married to that Drakos boy and that's final!!! The company needs this Katya!" He yelled back at me making me slam my fist against the white wall.

"No dad, this is what you need to make yourself look good after all the fucked up shit you've done in your life including my life! If mom was here she would agree with me..." I sneered and slammed the door on my way out of the office.

"Katya! Come back here!!!" He called after me but I ignored him, walking all the way towards the front door.

Walking towards Louis, I jumped inside the car and told him to go to my mother's resting place. I needed to talk to her.

When we got there, Louis stayed in the car as I walked towards my mother's grave. Quickly reaching her resting area, my legs immediately gave out and I landed before her grave stone.

"M-Mom.... I miss you so much" I sobbed lightly caressing her stone, "If you could only be here to knock some sense into dad, he's been a disaster ever since you left us" I sniffed as silent tears trailed down my face.

"I love you so much mom..." I whispered then turned when I heard someone approaching. My father stood beside me with a distant look on his face, a sad smile dancing on his lips.

"I knew I'd find you here... Come on baby girl, let's go home" he mumbled softly holding his hand out for me to take.

"I came with Louis, and I'll leave with him" I snapped getting up from the ground without his help and walked past him making sure to bump him on the shoulder.

Getting in the car with Louis, he gave me a small frown, "Where to Ms. Antoni?" he asked softly.

"Ugh Louis call me Katya—" I chuckled when the old man blushed, "And home" I mumbled and looked at the window as we drove back home.

Pulling up into our home, I got out of the car as Louis held the door open for me smiling softly at him.

"Have a good night Louis!" I said as I walked up the entrance's steps.

"Same to you Ms— I mean Katya, same to you honey!" he said back as I waved goodbye.

Walking into my home, I froze when I noticed there were some people I didn't recognize sitting in my living room with my father.

"Ah! Katya you're home darling—" he gasped then walked over to me and wrapped his arm around me, "These are your in-laws, Jax will be arriving shortly" He whispered in my ear. I flinched away from him and walked towards them with my fakest smile yet.

"Hi, I'm Katya nice to meet you" I smiled gasping as the woman pulled me in for a hug.

"I am so sorry for your loss honey... Katrina was an amazing woman" She whispered only for me to hear making me whimper.
