I used to think that NaNoWriMo was a dumb idea but as my first year participating, with over 10k words written in two days, I am starting to change my opinion. I am so excited to complete this novel. The idea came to me on the night before NaNoWriMo and I don't really like everything about it but I have decided that the best thing for me is to complete it, post it, and get some feedback.
Writing 10k words in two days means that this is a very rough novel. I plan on posting this all on here and I ask that you guys go crazy. Make fun of everything, point out everything, and tell me that I have no talent so that I know where to fix things up. In January and February I want to work with NaNoWriMo again for the 'What Now?'. That means that I'll be rewriting and revising this story until it's satisfactory.
For anyone like me, who has been struggling to write, I encourage you to try out NaNoWriMo. Even though it is not perfect and you might not complete it, the challenge the pressure should push you to get some done. I know it has for me. If I don't complete this in a month I won't be disappointed in myself but I will be trying this again and again. Hopefully this really unlocks my inner ninja writer.
