Des' POV
It was hard to keep going, Mercy was getting tired, Charlie was heartbroken and Lila was in a blind rage. I was praying to whatever heavenly being existed to keep Mercy and Tobias from having the same fate, if Tobais was still alive of course.
"Guys we have to get inside somewhere," I said, "Mercy's tired...."
Lila growled at me, "no! We have to keep moving! I will not let my sister's death be in vain!" Mercy yawned quietly earning Charlie's attention.
"Maybe we should stop...." Charlie said picking Mercy up. I looked at Lila.
"Come on Lila...we all need a rest..." I said putting my hand on her shoulder. Lila tensed up at my action and shrugged me off sighing.
"Ok...." she said.

We searched everywhere for somewhere safe to stay the night and we finally found an abandoned apartment building that was safe enough.
Mercy was sleeping close to the fire with Charlie, who was running their fingers through Mercy's hair, singing softly. Lila with sitting on the ledge of one of the windows just staring out at the moonlit night in sorrow. I was on my laptop trying to find any trace of Tobias or any other people that may still be alive, but I've had no such luck until....
Bing!
I jumped slightly staring at my screen in disbelief. There were a bunch of people in small groups everywhere! The largest group seemed to be 8 and a half miles from our current location, but how are we going to get there. There are walkers everywhere! Even a few screamers, not to mention a whole hive of snatchers about 10 clicks north from us.
I groaned quietly running my fingers through my messy and oily hair, what I wouldn't give for a hot shower right now? I groaned in annoyance when suddenly screaming and yelling came from the street.
Charlie sat up quickly looking straight at the balcony, "what was that?" they panicked. I got up quickly disregarding my laptop, not noticing two green dots blinking on the satellite map on my laptop.
"There's people down there," Lila said as I joined her at the balcony. I flipped my goggles down, setting it to night vision I could vaguely see a tall lean boy and a dark skinned neko girl getting attacked by a bunch of walkers.
"We gotta help them, they may be able to help us get to a safe zone...." Lila looked at me with confusion. "I'll tell you later," I added, Lila nodded.
We bolted down the stairs onto the streets leaving Charlie and Mercy upstairs in the safety of the apartment.
"GET OFF ME YOU GROSS FREAKS!!!" I heard a feminine voice scream. Heads toppled and bodies were being pushed and stabbed all over the place. I heard the feminine voice scream loudly.
"MAR!!!" A deeper voice yelled. I fought my way to where the screaming was coming from and shot the zombies and pulled them off the person. Not bothering to look at who I just saved, I kept fighting the zombies off while Lila went to help the other person and the girl I just saved.
"Check for bites!" I called out as I slammed my foot into one of the zombies' chest and watching it topple over knocking a few others on its path down.
We finally killed all the walkers and I was looking over all of them to see if Toby was there while Lila switched on a torch.
"SERIOUSLY?! HOW THE HELL ARE YOU ALIVE?! AND YOU WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH HER!" I heard Lila yell in out rage.
"Aw Lila, are you jealous that I'm killing zombies with another girl," I heard the guy coo. I turned around just in the to see Lila knee the guy in in the gut.
"As if Link! You have a left hand, use it!" Lila sass. "And you! This is your fault! All of this could've been avoided if you had finished your report like you should have instead of going to get drunk at a bar and cheating on Tobias." I could see the people more clearly now, it was Link and Tobias' cheating girlfriend, Marlee.
"Did we seriously just save these two sorry asses?" I complain.
Hey guys so that's done please don't hate me for taking so long I only recently had the idea to bring Marlee in as an actual character and add Link in as a sort of comic relief to this sad story. hope u liked it
